Woop woop, how's life at the funny farm loonies ?

Today 40 years ago I was at Wembley along with 96526 others to watch the magnificent Molineux men win the League Cup.

I was sat next to Robert Plant, I wonder if he remembers me ?

Good memories of that League Cup Final win. Forest were the better team for the majority of the game and we won it with a flooky goal but who cares. The 74 final was much more exciting a game and one we deserved more to win

Agree, we were not expected to win either and were underdogs both times. At the 74 final I was behind the goal where John Richards scored the winning goal, I knew it was a goal straight away as it left his boot.
Certainly the 74 was a better game but it was great to stuff it up both opponents.

74 was brilliant. got to wembley and heard that phil parkes was out. thought that the almost unheard of gary pierce would have no chance against citys stars.
pierce then played the game of his life.

And 45 years ago today Willie Carr made his debut for Wolves as we beat Chelsea 7-1. Steve Kindon was unstoppable that day

Just seen an advert offering odds of 7/2 on Jarrod Bowen scoring for West Ham against Wolves today. Would be willing to take any odds on a bet that he doesn’t

Not a chance! With his drug addled brain he doesn't know who he is half the time so there's no chance of him remembering you

Shame really, I remember him, what he was wearing, the bird he was with and his solid gold ciggy lighter. (he dropped it and I found it under my seat, I gave him it back !)

Great guy, still see him from time to time queuing for a pre match bovril in the Steve Bull stand. Very down to earth and his love of Wolves is probably greater than his love of music. Remember Graham Taylor saying he was a big fan of Led Zeppelin and was looking forward to meeting Planty when he was appointed Wolves manager. But he was disappointed when he met him cause all he wanted to talk about was Wolves not music.

He’s still making good music too

was a friend of planty, we were at
halesowen college at the same time. later used to see him in the dark days of the 80s at home and away games and in the clarendon before a game.

I had a season ticket near him in the Steve Bull, was still the John Ireland then, in the 90s. The Taylor/McGhee years. There was some weirdo that made train noises every time Stancliffe touched the ball.

Fack me, listen to you lot, all talking like its your last days and getting all your memories out

Might have been Lawrie Madden actually not Stancliff, either way that bloke sat behind us was a feckin nut job.

Still nowhere near as annoying as the get who sits behind me now mind.
