If his manager tells him to play it from the back and he like every other player on the pitch makes an error of judgement with the weight of pass then surely his manager is at least equally to blame.

I think while this has been acknowledged it hasn't had the kind of response Adrian is getting.
I don't know if it's right but if phases of play kind of argument is used then the defenders are equally liable for not shutting things down
They are just gutted that they let slip a 2-0 goal.
Even more so when they scored their second so late on in the game.
Apparently they had plenty of chances to win the game but failed to do so.
Adrian has just wrongfully been made the scapegoat.
TBF we’ve had some idiotic fans who have crossed the line personally verbally abusing some of our underperforming players.
Not one article about Adrian on the LFC board from last night or today. Talk about faux outrage.

Tbh bro this was why I put it on here not on your board as some of you are overly sensitive.
Fwiw I used to keep goal and I remember 2 goals that were clearly my fault. Both was me being blase coz we were winning. Ended up drawing one, still won the other. The one we lost was not even the worst mistake but it's what's remembered.
Seeing the stick Adrian has been getting I just thought it was something worth discussing. If you disagree you can always no read and move on
He's played a massive part in us going out of two cups in as many weeks.
Awful kick, poor positioning and if he didn't ever play for us again I wouldn't mind.

Initial error was Adrian but in the end it was a great finish too. It was a poor kick as he did not judge the ball which came back at pace. I was disappointed that the defenders did not react. They should have fouled him. The same with 2nd goal just take the man down and accept the booking.
3rd goal was when we went all out attack.
Adrian unfortunately has cost us in FA cup and CL. You can't hide from that fact.
Yes there was poor finishing too but in the end they got that 2 goal lead.

yeah right
Liverpool’s forwards let them down just as much as Adrian did. They do their job and the tie is done in 90 minutes.
It was his fault though. The unforced error led directly to their goal. That obviously changed the game. It's not rocket science. If Alisson was playing it would not have happened
Maybe, they scored a couple of goals and Robertson should have buried that header but with the FA cup as well he's going to get pelters.
Who'd want to be a goalkeeper at Liverpool !we know that it's a difficult position, but the other 10 men had more than enough chances to win the game, before his misjudgement !,...........another goalkeeper ruined by the Liverpool crowd.
They facked up plenty of opportunities to put the tie to bed in normal time, though. I get that Adrian deserves criticism but so do the forwards that let it get to that stage.

I thought Oblak was quality
He played well, but I don’t think he made any saves you wouldn’t expect to him to. Liverpool blazing the ball over the bar or putting it wide from positions you’d expect them to score from wasn’t anything Oblak has an influence over.

Oblak is more about positioning. He moves his feet so he doesnt have to make impossible saves.
Adrian feet were all over the place. There was that shot in 2nd half which was like a back pass but Adrian somehow fumbled it and it almost went to Felix.

Yo Adrian was a bit Rocky last night
As bad as his kick and positioning was for the first goal, the defenders in front of him were equally as abject.
They've all been a bit crap in recent weeks.
Missing Matip.
But I’m not comparing those two. I just wouldn’t excuse the forwards because Oblak had a good game, he didn’t do anything extraordinary, it was their own lack of quality that let them down.
Liverpool fans seem to want to talk about how dominant they were, and how many chances they missed, which is fair enough, but to then lay most of the blame on Adrian rather than acknowledging their lack of quality in the final third was what really let them down for the majority of the game.

This is what I noticed on watching the highlights, yes his kick was poor but it was into the opposition half. No one moved from Liverpool.
Romero just done a poor kick but our players were on it instantly.
Madrid's second goal was a guy just ambling through to take a shot. No one applying pressure
Harsh on the keeper imo
Liverpool forgot they had to defend. The first goal was a mistake in giving the ball away and at that level you get punished.
The second goal, i felt, was a good strike and VVD/ Gomes positioned themselves wrong. They could have stopped the goal long before the shot.
Tbh I think the outfield players were just knackered. Ive not checked but I reckon they all ran an awful lot last night.
I dont know loads about keepers tbf but I know the good ones make it look easy and I reckon we'd still be in both cups if Alisson plays instead.
Though it was obviously an error, it wasn't anywhere near the likes of Karius'. I didn't watch it real time, so when I watched the highlights I was expecting a real howler and it wasn't that at all.
I feel like in the Prem you'll see a mistake like that every other game and the keeper will get away with it 8 times out of 10, unfortunately for Liverpool a mixture of being slow to close down and Atletico having quality on the ball meant the error was punished.
In terms of mistakes, I wouldn't actually put it above some of the opportunities Liverpool wasted, obviously as a gk you're just under so much more scrutiny.

Alisson is great keeper and we will never know but look at our game against city. Their keeper is non too shabby but that first goal was all on him. He dived over the ball.
The second goal is what he got slated for by some but I felt it was his team mate who was just not busting a gut to get to the ball or McT. The keeper releasing the ball quickly with seconds running down was the right thing.
