Sorry lads, you are straw-clutching here. If you want to Google then look for reputable sites. There is no possibility of a vaccine before 2021 and even then, as with flu vaccines, there is likely to be limited efficacy as the virus mutates. There is no prospect of anti-viral medication, I'm afraid it just isn't as simple as you would like it to be. Just because you really want something to be true, doesn't mean that it actually IS true.

Could it be that a ruthless - and up against it - government, just like ours, might be happy to sacrifice thousands of oldies and save all those old age pensions payments?

Well Cal, I have been a doctor for over thirty years and a hospital consultant since 1996 so you might at least consider the possibility that I could have a small amount of knowledge of medical matters.

PSA: Corona Virus is NOT new, there are multiple strains. It was found in the 1960’s. The 19 in COVID 19 is the year that particular mutation was found. Also it has been reported through an NBC station that more than 70% of the COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged.

Cal, I understand your desire to disbelieve me. I don't know what you think I am getting wrong.

You can choose to believe fake news stuff if you like, that's your right. I go by the science and the opinions of those who know more about it than me.

Cal, we don't have immunity but the recovery rates are encouraging, I fall into the high risk category but no way will I let this virus change how I live my life.

I said you can choose to believe fake new if you like Cal. I didn't say you were the author of fake news. Fake news are such things as there being treatments for coronavirus or the prospect of treatments in the near future, or the idea that a vaccine is around the corner or that such a thing will have any impact on the current outbreak.

Note that the conspiracy theorists in the US were blaming China for developing this Covid 19 virus and now the conspiracy theorists in China are blaming the US for the same thing. Thankfully there are scientists about who draw conclusions from the evidence not from prejudice.

This is a new variant of the corona virus, the one which causes the common cold. As there is no vaccine or anti viral drug to treat the common cold, why magically would there be anything to treat this variant. Were there anything to treat this variant, pharmaceutical companies would be working flat out to produce it. The profits would be sensational.

Were there to be no relegation from the PL then the saving in parachute payments could be shared out amongst EFL clubs who will be really struggling to survive the loss in income.

I did not say you had peddled fake news. I wish you would stop saying that. I said that you can choose to believe it if you want. The HIV patient is very interesting but his cure was incredibly rare, one-in-a-million kind of thing, because he was unfortunate enough to get a very nasty cancer. It was the treatment for the cancer that in his case, a last-resort highly aggressive treatment, that has also rendered the HIV inactive in him, though he still has some of the virus in his body.

There are a lot of people wearing foil hats on here!

Back to the football question ...
I have no allegiance to Liverpool and, obviously, I loathe both Forest and Leeds but I think this season needs to be finished properly. If that means Leeds get promoted and Forest lose the play off final, so be it.
We finish this season whenever, we work out what to do with next season later.

It would be best, no doubt Peeder. If we were only considering the domestic game that might be possible, but with European club competitions to consider and different countries likely to be at different stages of the outbreak then it seems impossible to be able to do that. There will be so much for all countries to have to try to squeeze in before the 2020/2021 season starts that I think they will all come to the same conclusion: forget 2019/2020 and start again.

This. Got to prioritise current season over future ones.
Be harsh on so many teams, not just Leeds and Liverpool. Sheff Utd missing out on European football, Coventry top of League One finally enjoying some success, Leicester in top 4.

Then the injustice of Spurs getting another crack at CL or Arsenal back in the Europa League. Norwich with jusy 21 points from 29 games getting another 38 games in the top flight.

I'll say again, this is also my preference. I just don't see it happening though. It's going to be unfair but sometimes unfair things happen, and I don't think that the people who decide these things will be as bothered about that as the fans are. They will want to put it behind them and move on.
