Closing schools during a pandemic is a bad idea because kids like to run around has to be my favourite argument yet.

Work and have family in these hospitals. They are not prepared.

Mm Mu aunt works in Preston Royal and syad they are prepared up to a level. It depends on numbers.
I don’t think the NHS is going to be able to cope with even conservative estimates.
Some needing treatment for the corona virus.
I don't know if you are aware that most Primary Care surgeries are not taking routine appointments at the moment. They triage request by phone and only call in those who they consider to need immediate attention. Which means that there are very few patients in GP Practices at the moment, yet the staff who work there are still expected to attend. Yet they have few patients to see between them.
These 'idle' Primary Care health professionals will probably be called in as reserves to service Secondary care requirement if things develop and masses of people need intensive hospital treatment.
Many Doctors and Nurses in Primary Care have little or no up to date experience of Secondary Care, hospitals and how they work, shift work, and high-tech machines that go bleep.
Could be chaos.
