For 25m, yes.

No brainer. Seems to be happy with a backup role and playing Europa league next season.

He has certainly made a promising start with us. I would wait until the end of his loan spell before we discuss a permanent move to see if he can keep his form up.

Maybe signing Ighalo for a couple of years while Greenwood develops would be a shrewd strategy.

ah, if the season was ended.. Then yea, i think he's shown enough and the Martial, Rashers, Ighalo and Greenwood makes for decent striker options.

No, you were right the first time.

Ed will go in hard with the negotiations and will be determined to spend £25m minimum, maybe even £30m.

Secretly, I think he’ll want £40m, but I think he’ll probably meet them in the middle somewhere.

New player bounce, wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t score again this season

Apologies, I didn't read the whole of the OP.

After the sale of Lukaku, I imagine the club would have drawn up a list of potential long term replacements. I think they should target that first and stick to that long term strategy. Bearing in mind Ighalo will be 31 in June.

If we can't get our primary target over the line then I will have no qualms about signing Ighalo as an alternative for a season or 2, the deal would be done swiftly it seems.

I think (hope) our main attacking target will be a right sided player. I think Martial is still very much our #9 in Ole's eyes.

So far so good but he’s only scored against poor Europa sides and a reserve Derby side.

Genuinely hope he makes it but wanna see him score against some PL sides before we sign him on a perm deal.

Absolutely. I think bolstering our attack should be the priority. First a RW, then a ST, then possibly another #10 if we move on the likes of Lingard, Pereira, Sanchez.

btw - was there are truth to the rumour of him signing up with Raiola? If so, i'd tell him to do one.

If I had to make the decision now then I would take him. That said, I'd rather see him play a few PL teams before making the decision.

CM is number one for me.

Seriously though, we need a top box-to-box player, a proper nine (Ighalo?), a RW and a CB.

Bruno and Mata cover number ten.

I'd think so. Players have contracts. Once they are up they are up and they will have a right to sign for another club. Once those players start moving you can't restrict the other players from moving that aren't out of contract.

I’d be happy with that. Don’t think a big money CF is a needed and the right side of attack is the main priority.

Martial, Rashford and Greenwood can all play up top also and hopefully all 3 will improve further.

Ighalo is delighted to be at the club, offers something different to the other 3 and is unlikely to complain if not selected.

15 mill if true on 2-3 year deal could be smart business.

I think a 1 year deal with option to extend for a further year is smart, think anything like 3 years based on the short time (albeit a success so far) may be pushing it.

Seems so far to be absolutely ideal as back up to Martial and Rashford though while allowing Greenwood to develop at his own pace.

Might depend on how long he has on his contract in China. Is he going to take a huge pay cut and a reduced length contract?

This is the way to go I think. Gives us another year to assess where Martial, Greenwood and Rashford are at.

Rashford, Martial and Greenwood all have decent goal tallies this season.

They aren’t the problem imo it’s just they had no one to back them up especially with Pogba being out.

Now we have Ighalo & Bruno.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Ighalo is already our joint 4th top scorer this season.

You are wrong, he’s joint 5th (4 goals) with Dan James.
