Oh yes and some coconut biscuits
What I'm missing most is flags for my sand castles I'm not allowed out to the shops to buy them for some reason

Pity about the flags but otherwise you seem to have been set up, except you needed a flask of coffee so that you could have dunked the biscuits. Fail to plan, plan to fail.

Might as well start my letters to Father Christmas now I hope he’s allowed out as he doesn’t mingle with anybody on his household visits plus he’s self isolating now in preparation for his big night.

I hope you are all being good boys and girls like me.

Too much time on my hands.
So I was recalling how many people like me once said the football money bubble would one day burst. Could we be approaching the day it goes pop in a way nobody not even my crystal balls could predict.

It's true, we could see many clubs experiencing terrible financial problems not least of all our own club. My thoughts on BWFC are that none of us know what kind of funds are available even though we were told that the consortium had enough funds to keep the club going for three years.

Since then we are now certain to be relegated, we also face a real problem with the contracts of fifteen players whose contracts expire in June. We also know that KH's and DF's contracts expire probably in August, as I believe they were on a one-year contract. Some may be hoping that their contracts may not be renewed. However, are our leaders in a mind to see the back of them. Only time will tell. Then we have the Elephant in the room, the Corona Virus, which is the biggest threat to many clubs and no one knows just how long this pandemic will last before matters return to some form of normality.

I could be wrong but the one thing in favour of our club surviving this crisis is that we do have a small consortium of reasonably wealthy people involved with the club. If they are all of the same minds and determined to see the club survive, we may be lucky and stay in business. Depending on how many clubs survive, the leagues may have to be re-organised.

This post may be over the top but we are now starting to see large businesses go into administration, it remains to be seen how the smaller clubs in football fare.

Southend they have only just agreed a deal for a new stadium and new houses with the council the council are nearly skint now spending all its got on Corona.
The list of clubs this is causing problems for will no doubt be endless

It's confirmed Hill and Flickers are only contracted up to this summer.
Should they stay or should he go now ?

I think we worry about football, players and managers contracts when all this is over. Hoping common sense is used and only come back when safe as it is dangerous out there with the virus striking indiscriminately. No matter what happens, continue this season or start a new one mustn't be motivated by money. Players going to need time to get fit, a proper pre season will be needed, clubs will need time to rebuild a squad. No way will players be retained after 30th June no matter what fifa say. Also note this article in the beano https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/18364958.bolton-wanderers-players-left-without-medical-cover-lockdown/ Don't get injured then. Welcome to the real world. Stay at home and don't get this virus.

Good to hear from you Benny
Money Talks at the end of the day it will decide just about everything and especially in football where the lower leagues being the weakest will be the financial casualties of this virus when its all over.
I'm surprised we haven't heard whispers of some strange and radical recovery plans for football going on behind the scenes.

We have generations of fans who remember the game pre Premiership and pre sky younger fans ask us what it was like in the good old days we'll be heading into a new post virus era soon it won't look like the pre virus era will it.

Further to my post yesterday Greg Clarke Chairman of the FA released a statement. It looks as though the footballing bodies that control the game are on the same page. Time will tell what actually will happen but it does mean that the clubs in the lower leagues are the ones that at more at risk whilst the Premiership clubs are the ones most likely to survive.

Her is a link to the article.

Big Sam doesn't see how the leagues can complete the fixtures for this season. Everyone has an opinion and no of us actually knows what will happen. In the meantime, we need to concentrate on the health of the people.

Despite the fact that we all love the game and in particular our own team, it's doesn't even come second at this moment in time.

Keep staying indoors if you don't have to work and keep safe.

Chuck in the towel or finish the season in 56 days both in the BEN
The way things are shaping up I'll go with none of the above and a long haul until things balance out and end up at some sort of normality in football and normal life.

Andy holt of Accrington Stanley must have a slate short. We know the problem of not staging games and the vitriol and penalties that go with it. So to him, two fingers.

As for the EFL wanting the leagues to finish the season within 56 days. I personally doubt that will happen. They talk about playing games behind closed doors, which means continuing to pay players and some essential staff for that period without any income. If they demand that, they should be forced to pay every club compensation for their losses.

We have a dictatorial entity running the game and expecting clubs to put themselves in danger of being wound up. It's about time these idiots were put to the sword.

Just wondering how much of the 3 year funding is being drained away keeping the club running at the moment. Going to be a financial disaster if have to play the last 5 games behind closed doors and have to repay season tickets.

To be fair Swie I think Andy Holt was only trying to help.

Where's PG when you need him his strange idea's for the PL should pop up again soon.
We in the lower leagues could save a fortune by looking at history and going North South divisions with grand play off's deciding who goes up and down.

Who else forgot last night.
We were supposed to be playing away at Ipswich last night I've only just found out with it being Saturday which goes to show what these lock downs are doing mind you its fortunate I knew it's Saturday or I may not have looked.
Make the most of your Easter staying at home smile and think of all the odd jobs you can't do because the shops are shut and you're not going out for anything anyway.

Personally, I don't think his comment makes any sense. How many minus points would we accrue? We would be playing non-league football very soon.

He should concentrate on his own club and let our management look after ours.

I don't drink as much these days besides the win I remember the pies being good but hotter than a Mc D's fruit pudding thing.

McDonald's Fruit pudding! The only time I ever go to Mcdonald's is when the grandchildren want to go. The same goes for Kentucky fried chicken. Two places I would never darken their doors except for the young ones. I'd sooner have a pasty.

swie it were a long time ago the choice up West in Londinium at 3am was very limited back then not a pasty in sight mention Barm and they'd be looking into the night sky for a UFO

posted on 12/4/20

Thinking about barm cakes, I occasionally make my own. Absolutely delicious. I can't remember the last time I was out at 3:00 am. It was probably back in my youth. The missus put a stop to all that malarky.
