Don't forget the transfer window
The EFL discussed last Wednesday having a bigger window fitted by merging summer into winter and closing the summer window 31st Jan what would that do to those who like to wait until the window is about to close or those waiting for the same day to see whats left at the bottom of the barrel.

Heard over a 1000 free agents after June 30th. Might be the clubs hold all the cards if the lockdown extends rather than the players. At league one and two level anyway.

I suppose we have to look at what other countries are doing in terms of their re-starts. I probably wouldn't look at Germany as their situation is different. Say probably Italy and Spain.

I still have the last programme from Burnden in my wardrobe - in fact I have most of that season's programmes bar the city match which I didn't go to and another one I wasn't able to purchase.

Have all the 1st season of the Reebok ones as well. Though I do not know where the 1st game one is. Think that ended up in the loft.

Changes
Wouldn't it be good in the not to near distant future that as well as adopting some of Jacks thoughts football introduces a law stating all league matches must kick of at 3pm Saturday it should be workable shouldn't it

Has someone taken over swie's account? That is the first time I have seen him using swear words.

Isaac, Have you never heard of the little p!$$er in Brussels? It's a very famous bronze of a little boy taking a leak. It isn't, as far as I'm aware of being classed as ma swear word. Certainly not in Brussels. Open this link and you may, or may not, change your view.

Good share with the programme. The efl are just low towing to sky to keep the money. The 56 day plan won't work. Another plan mentioned this morning no relegation (we are stay up) and the top 8 in each league to play off, 2 go up and the season after 5 go down. The greatest escape ever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Benny, I hadn't heard that. If it actually happens that could be good news depending on what happens with the manager and which players we are able to sign.

SWIE Don't worry Jack was suggesting going back to regional leagues doing away with the transfer windows and play offs.
There's lots of things that can be chucked in the pot to discuss and consider as there's bound to be some serious changes required once we are allowed out to play.

I'm using the latest Edge in Windows 10 if you want it you can get it here.

Thanks, Pasty, I will try that I did try to do that on Google chrome and as it's set up differently, I couldn't figure it out.

I think what Jack was suggesting was has already been knocked back by the EFL. I'm not sure where I heard it or read it.

On another matter, (I couldn't read the article but I read the headline) I see Diouf put a spell on JJ. I can imagine Dioufy doing that. He was a loose cannon.

Ignoring any prompts from the BEN when was the last time you sat and thought you couldn't wait for the season to restart so we could finish this one ?
Is anybody really that bothered about finishing it now ? I'd rather we were told its done and we will try to start a new season as normal if its possible when we get there.
Clubs are going to have to work hard for every penny whenever we see football again how many folk will have got used to doing more with their time or lost interest altogether.

Graeme Jones who left luton is available. Be interesting which way fv go if we ever get round to playing again which isn't any time soon.

posted on 30/4/20

I've been told I'll be able to go out to play in June but with a restriction of a maximum of nine friends as gatherings of more than ten folk will still be banned.
This seems to be the norm when thinking about easing things so isn't it time the EFL called it a day on this season.

I read the terms and conditions. It seems that the update is not finished and if you download it and things go wrong, you may not be able to re-insert the old version. I have decided to wait until the new version has been finished and checked.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding finishing the season, Personally I prefer it not to start until it's absolutely safe to do so. It would be foolhardy to take any risks.

A new manager would be my choice with a manager who's CV has been in the top two leagues or someone who is up and coming. There may be a few available by the time we start the new season.

oh dear swie the update on the link is fine I've been using it on around 20 systems since the beta days it's the fastest browser around these days. What you see is what you'll get in your update when comes

So the BEN says "no club will return to training before May 16 and there will be a three-week gap before any football is resumed"
So the season is done already what's the point now with a mini pre season before a return new players required and another preseason before we start next season where do holidays fit in I can't imagine players being happy to skip a chance of a holiday this year even if it's only a couple weeks at Pontins.
Too much messing about now especially with contacts being up we need a new team and possibly a new manager and back room as well

Pasty I will download the latest version of edge. I was worried that if it collapsed that I would be left without any version of edge.

So, we may be about to make another great escape. I hope that is the reality. I wouldn't be surprised if that is what happens. We need to put safety first which to my mind is far more important than games of football being played behind closed doors. Players would have to play wearing masks which would slow the games down considerably.

I'm thinking of ways in which the experience of watching TV football in empty stadiums might be different from before. Not just the eeriness of the deserted stands, but little things about the game itself.

I wonder what socially distant goal celebrations will look like? Will the scorer stand still while his team mates form a circle of 2m radius around him and politely applaud?

Yellow card for coming within 2m of the ref, although with that and the masks there is more chance of him missing any foul and abusive language, so that events itself out.

We will have goals disallowed by VAR because a flapping ear strap was one inch in front of the defender.

That Macedonian midfielder Covid will have to change his squad number from the very unfortunate one he has now, otherwise his shirt will look ... awkward.

What else?

The great ball boy/girl pitch invasion and punch up when somebody scores a last minute winner half of the ball boys/girls run onto the pitch jumping up and down in celebration little did the organisers know the other half of the ball boys/girls support the now losing side and take offence at the others celebrating invade the pitch starting a mass ball boy/girl brawl
The match is abandoned with no police to restore order the ref had no choice but to retreat with the players to the dressing rooms the FA admit the use of players children as ball boys and girls was a mistake which backfired as fighting broke out between the parents in the tunnel.

Football then resorts to Plan B players wear giant foam It's a knockout suits and use an enormous sized ball with each player having a garden leaf blower to play giant blow football for the remaining matches.

While the bosses have had time to go through everything I wonder what they've found in the skeleton cupboards with a bit of luck they've had time to find everything and put plans in place to see us through a few years and make a few bob along the way.
There's money to be made in framed copies of that fax and photo's of Leroy Lita signing a contract alongside one of him holding up a shirt

What should be our last game of the season today a nice leisurely drive down to Oxford for a quiet relegation ceremony Will Oxford have caught and overtaken Rotherham or just managed to secure a play off place by the end of the day. You wouldn't begrudge a little clap for Oxford if they do it would you.
Here's a reminder of the team from our last away game at Burton where we came from 1-2 up at half time to draw 2-2.

Who from the team will feature in the next will Liam Edwards who was out for the season make the bench.
Here's a reminder of the team who secured that glorious draw at Burton.
