Another thing. Let’s debunk the notion that the government is culling old folk to save money. A rough calculation of 250k deaths at £120 pw average pension saves only £1.5bn a year. Sure, big health service costs on top of that saved but it pales into insignificance versus the £1500 a day it costs to keep these patients in intensive care.

Is it definitely airborne?

I’ve seen conflicting reports on that part.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, it’s not been classed as airborne.

Also, it is irresponsible to not ‘test, test, test’ as you can’t measure after the event. You don’t know who will have had the virus and who hasn’t.

We need to be able to track this, and be on top of it-being proactive rather than reactive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I believe a test is available that can tell if you’ve had it.

No, don’t ask me for proof.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We won’t be doing testing after this has calmed down. How would that work, without testing everyone in the country?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m no expert but I’d imagine they’d do cross sectional testing by age group, location and gender maybe. They won’t do nothing to understand this further seeing as we are being told it is likely to come back.

It would also allow us to trace the spread of the epidemic here.. which could aid us in stopping it spreading further, or at least trying to isolate and contain flare ups that occur in areas.

Really irresponsible from our Government not to be doing this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What?

What’s irresponsible?

How on earth is anyone meant to measure flare ups whilst it’s still going on and changing on practically an hourly basis?

It’s a virus. It’s airborne and can be transmitted by touch.

Any measuring will be done after the main event and will undoubtedly show areas with larger populations will have more cases and there may well be age and health risk assessments which we are part the way through.

Even then that doesn’t tell you where it will or could strike next as immunity builds in certain areas faster than others.

This constant blaming of a government is pathetic. Everyone’s an expert on a previously unknown virus which still baffles us even now as POV has already indicated by the wild estimates on death rates.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
South Korea are one of many nations that have been doing intensive testing and monitoring of the spread of the disease.

UK have been asleep at the wheel. Haven't been testing health officials let alone tracking the disease.

Yes they have.

They’ve just opened a further testing facility up in Wigan

But they don't all go into intensive care and stay there. Plus the take from death taxes etc.

3rd death confirmed in Scotland, confirmed cases up by 32 to 227.

Cases here are now being reported as people dying who had tested positive for coronavirus, not that they died as a result of it?!

Aye very good.

If they have a number of conditions, any one of which could at any time have resulted in loss of life; how do they determine which actually had the finishing touch as it were?

People die of pneumonia but at the very end it might have been a heart attack. Death by pneumonia. Not necessarily heart failure.

I don’t know-I’m not a medic and don’t know how they decide these things?!

My only point being that accuracy is pretty crucial just now.

I just don’t think accuracy is something we can get just now.

There’s the schools closing in Scotland and Wales. Mental.

Schools closed from Friday.

Nursery's as well i imagine?

Interestingly I heard (from a direct source so not clickbait) that one of the major hospitals in the DC area has tested more than 1000 people (all apparently with symptoms) and not one came back positive.

Not sure what to read into that but just thought if was interesting.

That’s a bit ridiculous, is it not?! Surely they can state what a person died from the same as any other day of the week when they have to do it?!
