I'm very much against City's financial doping, but it would be ridiculous for their ban to be upheld in the current situation.

Why

posted on 25/3/20

Because there wasn't any financial doping in the first place which is why it's going to CAS.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because this year's CL will likely be cancelled and City are one of the most likely winners.

And the thing needs to go to CAS, which won't be happening for a long time, most likely will still be going on whilst the new season has started

I don't mind City in CL. It means United will be playing Thursday nights.

This. Cheating the likes of which has never been seen should be acceptable when there's a pandemic going on.

what a poorly thought out response

So because the seasons CL is on pause they get a pass

CAS doesn't work over the phone or via teams or skype or email

Quite right too. City have denied teams a chance at the CL and the revenue that comes with it by doping themselves up. Of course they should be brought to book.

It's not like Liverpool have denied other clubs European revenue by their actions.

To imply coronovirus and it’s existence as a viable reason for not upholding the rules defies belief as it does logic.

City, a team I have admired for decades, have broken the rules. They’ve been punished with a two year ban in the CL. I can think of no mitigation that could be genuinely presented in their favour which should result in a reduction or removal of the penalty.

Yes, the evidence came to light by means of a cyber specialist breaking in to their site and spilling the beans to the German press. But that doesn’t mitigate against the ban.

I’m sure City’s owners acted in a manner to bring glory to their club and supporters, not financial gain. But had they been successful in their deceit monies would have flowed into their coffers.

The other PL clubs are entirely right in lodging their opposition to City’s appeal.

The ban should stay.
