Because its comparable in any way to the hundreds of millions of pounds at stake across the 4 professional leagues? I know you've been banging this drum for ages sandy, but we were going to on rations at some point this week according to you too. The prem will be finished. I guarantee it.

It is very comparable, they all play football and they all play in leagues. Has to be all or nothing.

Only a matter of time that the rest of football follows suit.

Rationing will also come in shortly.

Not even remotely comparable.

Multi billion dollar industry compared to a group of lads getting tanked up on Saturday and having a kick about on Sunday.

Mega 19-21 season is the best option. Restart whenever ready and go until next may, however many games it ends up being.

*restart with current point totals.

Correct it's not comparable but it's still a big deal as you'd be surprised at the money that gets thrown around even at the lower levels in this country.

I play 3 leagues below the conference and even here some of the players get over £200 per game. Nothing compared to prem money but when you consider it as a percentage of the revenue for these clubs then it's probably similar. It's a lot of investment in terms of time and money to have it all declared null and void.

If the FA is consistent they'll do the same for the pro game.

My comment was slightly tongue in cheek to be fair.

I just do not see any reason why the top leagues would just call it a day, there is literally zero need to do so. I am surprised any league would make this decision at this point, what is the rush?

Although Liverpool fans are never going to agree I think this is the beginning of the slow march towards this season getting cancelled.

As I've maintained from the moment it shut down the powers that be would rather bin off the end of the 19/20 season than jeopardise the whole of the 20/21 season.

Its also impossible to take the current positions as final due to games in hand, easier run ins.....etc. I wouldn't have a problem with Liverpool being awarded the title as they were clearly going to win it but making an exception for one team would cause huge problems.

No surprise this really, I expect the rest of the football league will be forced to follow suit eventually.

I lost £1400 back in September when Barrow lost at home.

Wonder if William Hill will pay out?

I just dont see clubs writing off the season when there are so many options. Can literally finish the season around December and fit things in alongside Quatar 22.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can't really think that finishing the season in December is worthwhile?

I've maintained since the start that my personal opinion is it's not worth ruining next season (and the various league competitions) in order to get this one finished, with a set of results that will be pretty meaningless anyway what with all the players back from injury etc.

As I understand it they've set a date in June as the last-possible resumption of the 2019/20 season in order to give teams a chance to prepare for 2020/21. If that can't be met the discussion should switch to provisions for next season, not carrying on a fruitless pursuit of a season that's ruined already.

Whilst that works for the top flight, the top flight is still a part of the football pyramid and most of that pyramid has now finished their seasons and will no doubt be desperate to restart playing asap for obvious reasons. You make non league clubs wait til February (after a December finish you'd need a break and a pre-season) and I'd question how many would actually be left in business? It's going to be hard as it is, but moving the goalposts further will kill semi pro clubs. They aren't going to get by if they're only able to play friendlies for a year.

And why will rationing come in? Literally as much food now available as there has ever been.

Rationing is already in. Plenty of items are not available to buy at more than two at any one shop.

Is this actually what you're clinging on to because last week you said it would be rationing like the war. I spent 200 pounds on a shop two days ago. It didn't feel like the war to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I`m not hanging onto anything. It is you that is wittering on about rationing. Rationing of sorts is already in. Not sure why you are trying to make such a big deal about it.
