I blame the Tories for this Pandemic.
.....
There are people out there who actually do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No one blames the Tories for the pandemic
But plenty (rightly) blame them for the terrible way it’s been handled
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I suppose Labour’s track record of handling massively important situations is better? 😂
I think the point is as one other poster posted is that politicians these days (especially Labour & Tory) are largely the same bunch of self-serving, deceitful sods. This has been the case since ‘New Labour’ in 1997

If you want to know what caused the recession then watch The Big Short
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This x 1000
Though I don’t think some of the mouth breathers on here who think it’s a Labour ting will last 5 minutes of that (very informative) movie
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's the one where Leonard de Carpio has a boat, right?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, that’s Wolf of Lehmann Avenue
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My bad. Trusty old Lehmann Avenue as the old proverb goes.

We need a fit and healthy leader at time like this.

And I would much prefer Boris in this crisis than the clown we have over here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
However bad Trump is, Boris is doing a terrible job here so I don’t think anyone would wish him on their country.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, difficult to separate them, both incompetent fools.

Boris is not on Trumps level of idiocy. In fact he's a very clever man.
Unfortunately he uses that cleverness on Boris, not us.

They haven’t handled it a badly as many other countries though. Yes they should have locked down the country two weeks earlier.
The US still hasn’t done this.

The crazy thing here, knowing what we know at this point is that it is still being done slowly state by state AFTER cases rise instead of preempting cases.
Ridiculous

Well didn't that old fat gordon guy who use to run the country overspend vast fortunes on pointless crap which significantly impacted our credit lines ran up huge debts and pretty much left us unable to get through a global credit crunch..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it was vast overspending, how come the deficit was lower than under some recent Tory governments and how come the Conservatives, at the previous general election, pledged to match Labour spending levels if they won power?
The recession that preceded the 2008 crash came under Tory rule after a decade of Tory rule. Recessions are both complex and cyclical phenomena. You are talking about something while lacking both knowledge of the facts and understanding of the mechanisms. When there's a topic I'm wholly ignorant about I tend to keep quiet or ask questions to people who are better informed, otherwise I risk coming across as an idiot.
Isn’t it harder to do this type of thing in the US as each state is like a country (to an extent) in their own right?

We expected our State to completely shut down on Monday. It virtually has by and large but not to the extent of NY.
