I know they’re trying to wait as long as possible to
see how things evolve, but the sooner the Government instruct the FA to cancel the season, the better for everyone and Football in general, as everyone will be able to then focus and prepare for the next season, whenever that starts

Finances will always determine the approach the Football authorities and govt will take.
I agree with Rosso, The priority will be to preserve next season as delaying it will make what is already a huge finacial mess a catastrophe.
Secondly it will be important to make decisions that will not infringe on employment laws and players contracts.
The final point is, unless clubs agree to scrap the cup cometitions, 4-6 weeks will not be enough.Its actually laughable considering the time needed to get players back into shape. A minimum of at least 8 weeks to finish this season with almost 2 games a week for some clubs.
Playing behind closed doors with new infections will not take place. Just forget it otherwise we wont end this pandemic unless footballers are reclassified to key workers
All other sports will want the same classification mind.
Today is the 28th of March, if we dont flatten the curve by 31 May 2020 the season will be voided. But the FA will have to put measures in place to announce this in time to allow clubs to potentially prepare for next season if we will indeed have another season.

There's a lot of hogwash and wishful thinking here. I don't know where to start.
Preserve next season? We can't even say when next season will start. Cancel a 75% done season in favour of a complete unknown? Yeah, that makes sense.
I seen one guy say the more time goes on the less people will have an interest in completing the season. Like that matters. All that matters is money and finances and cancelling this season will cut the deepest.
Better to resume whenever possible and collect all the finances from this season, get it done, take the money before immediately starting a new one. The league will need a month to complete when football resumes. No one is giving up a billion because of one month.

I think last season shows it was no one off. In any normal season we would have walked it last season too.

But last season was a FULL and NORMAL season - and you came 2nd

Finances will always determine the approach the Football authorities and govt will take.
I agree with Rosso, The priority will be to preserve next season as delaying it will make what is already a huge finacial mess a catastrophe.
Secondly it will be important to make decisions that will not infringe on employment laws and players contracts.
The final point is, unless clubs agree to scrap the cup cometitions, 4-6 weeks will not be enough.Its actually laughable considering the time needed to get players back into shape. A minimum of at least 8 weeks to finish this season with almost 2 games a week for some clubs.
Playing behind closed doors with new infections will not take place. Just forget it otherwise we wont end this pandemic unless footballers are reclassified to key workers
All other sports will want the same classification mind.
Today is the 28th of March, if we dont flatten the curve by 31 May 2020 the season will be voided. But the FA will have to put measures in place to announce this in time to allow clubs to potentially prepare for next season if we will indeed have another season.

Firmino, how do you feel about the season being drawn to a close and starting afresh when we’re in the all clear
As Liverpool have shown to be such a dominant force, surely you feel comfortable about winning the PL next time out?

There's a lot of hogwash and wishful thinking here. I don't know where to start.
Preserve next season? We can't even say when next season will start. Cancel a 75% done season in favour of a complete unknown? Yeah, that makes sense.
I seen one guy say the more time goes on the less people will have an interest in completing the season. Like that matters. All that matters is money and finances and cancelling this season will cut the deepest.
Better to resume whenever possible and collect all the finances from this season, get it done, take the money before immediately starting a new one. The league will need a month to complete when football resumes. No one is giving up a billion because of one month.

I think last season shows it was no one off. In any normal season we would have walked it last season too.

If the curve hasn't flattened by end if May then there's absolutely no way the league will be starting in August.
You want them to cancel the season at the end of May and give clubs time to prepare for the new season. How will clubs prepare in the midst of a pandemic?
It would mean next season is probably cancelled as well
Best to just suspend the season indefinitely so that a decision can be made at a more approrpaite time. Oh wait, that's what they did!!.
The season can be declared null at any time, even next year, so why the rush to prepare for next season which will see the league lose more money and bind itself to new deals and contracts for a season which might not happen? Dont be a simpleton saan.
Just wait and see first. Don't cancel nothing when its not necessary to do so unless your only reason is to deny Liverpool a title.

Like you say it’s about revenue and clubs don’t walk away from that.
