you need to take the blinkers off form

Not really. There are no rules in place so they need to put some in place. Not sure what's crazy about that notion
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're having a mare here.

You can't just bring new rules into a competition half way through. Do you understand why or do you really need that explaining too?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really. Even if the rule is that the season is voided if it cannot finish in time, it would be a new rule.

I just don’t think it’s going away anytime soon. Let’s say we restart and then one player/staff member contracts symptoms of the virus. That then means the club have to isolate and any teams they’ve played within 2 weeks.

Could easily happen.

How do you know there aren’t?

There are far more factors than just playing games
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When the season was first suspended it came out that there were no rules in place regarding what happens if a season cannot finish on time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that much is correct. But there are bigger issues regarding contracts, and there is literally NO scope to change employment law as that's none of football's business. And there'll be definite rules regarding squad registration. Once those are breached through nobodies fault you no longer have a fair competition. And if a competition isn't fair, then it's no longer a competition.

If this goes on for too long then many clubs down the pyramid will start struggling to survive. The Gills chairman said 3 months and they are in trouble, and this looks like it could go on for far longer.
The sad truth is, when we are ready to restart we may be doing so minus some clubs. Then finishing this season becomes a nonsense.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but until we have a firm idea as to when we can start again then it is a possibility.

True. Which is why next season may either not be a thing, or be a different format to the norm

He has a point. The longer this goes on the more ridiculous it is to finish a season.

Players will be in pre season mode and it'll be a bit of a farce.

All the teams who got into good form have lost momentum and visa versa. Any accomplishment or failure will be with an asterisk next to it.

Just give Liverpool their title to shut them up and move ob.
——————————————————————
‘To shut up’if it was any club any other fan supported you would all be saying exactly the same. You’re all so pathetic finding anyway for us not to win it. We literally need 2 more wins, why should we agree to finish the season, when it’s almost finished!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I said give you the title...

All this ignores the fact that these games could be played behind closed doors without too much effort.

Players quarentine as a club at favoured location for three weeks, likewise necessary cut back staff and security etc. After three weeks tested for virus after quarentine. Coached to stadium or training facility, play game.

We can manage to quarentine ourselves so i am sure multi million pound businesses can manage it.

Goes without saying that it's in everyone's best interests to try and finish, I'm just trying to put across the other side of the argument as to why it's not as cut and dried as simply stating "Just restart whenever we can". There's a number of issues, as highlighted by a few other posters. I've no anti-LFC bias at all, I just don't think you're going to necessarily get the best outcome in all of this that others seem so steadfastly convinced about

They’re still going to get food etc brought to them so there’s no guarantee 1 person wouldn’t get it than pass it on to others.

Hence why large gatherings aren’t allowed.

Large gatherings are allowed, they are called supermarkets. Tested after three weeks like i said, if clear, good to go. Shop workers are going into work every single day so i am sure footballers could give it a shot for 90 minutes.

You don’t go into slide tackles at your local supermarket or fight each other at corners.

Maybe in Liverpool but not a good example

I am sure shopworkers don't want to either for ten quid an hour so forgive me if i have little sympathy for asking a footballer to give up 90 minutes and at the same time entertain a public that is in desperate need of distraction.

No, but as i said, the public needs something so why couldn't they give a little back and make a small sacrifice to get these games done?

They won't of course, i know that, they don't care for those they exist for.
