Any sensible United fan would want this season to end. Its only bad for us in any other outcome unfortunately even if it does mean that lot winning the league

All this ignores the fact that these games could be played behind closed doors without too much effort.

Players quarentine as a club at favoured location for three weeks, likewise necessary cut back staff and security etc. After three weeks tested for virus after quarentine. Coached to stadium or training facility, play game.

We can manage to quarentine ourselves so i am sure multi million pound businesses can manage it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They’re still going to get food etc brought to them so there’s no guarantee 1 person wouldn’t get it than pass it on to others.

Hence why large gatherings aren’t allowed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Large gatherings are allowed, they are called supermarkets. Tested after three weeks like i said, if clear, good to go. Shop workers are going into work every single day so i am sure footballers could give it a shot for 90 minutes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you seen the supermarkets now?

Only a handful allowed in at a time
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's fine, have 5 a side for the rest of the season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or....start a new season as normal and bring back Masters Football to finish this season off? Andrey Voronin scores the decisive goal to secure your first PL title in front of a packed ECHO Arena

Not down playing it, it is a serious situation. But these games can be played if the right precautions are taken.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing thick about it. Millions of people are going to and from work every day right now using no other precaution other than to wash their hands.

I am suggesting around 200 people for a matchday quarentine for three weeks and transport to an empty stadium.

Which one sounds riskier to you?

Not really sure why it stopped? I know there are tons of pre season games to watch nowadays but back then it seemed to be the only thing to give you a summer football fix. Some of the derby games could be really fiery affairs too, especially the auld firm

I don’t think it’s as simple as just waiting until it can be played as squads will change which contravenes the league rules of registering players. Players contracts will run out etc etc.

It’s not as simple as people think it will be or want it to be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sure that was the if html about when they had their meetings and decided to extend indefinitely. There's a very easy way around it. Players continue to be paid on a week by week basis, basically on an ongoing weekly contract. No transfer or agreements allowed, until the agreed time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re assuming players aren’t wanting move clubs? It would have to be a global decision to work
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not. I'm assuming they aren't allowed as no transfer window open.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d be very surprised if the majority agreed on that tbh
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't, considering the PFA were involved in the meeting where they decided to extend indefinitely.

Personally I think we have to finish the current season, however long that takes.

What we could do is use whatever time is left between the current season ending and start of the June 2021 Euros to trial a European Super League

Still leaves the issue of players being out of contract and wanting to move on

What about contracts? What about non league teams other, now voided leagues, just leave them without games for 18 months?

You’re not that naive though Toor. Let’s be honest no one knows how long this is going to go on for so it’s buying time at the moment.

The PFA have no say on whether a player is able to move at the end of his contract. None. Everyone might say they want to complete, doesn't make it any more plausible.

And what do the rest of the teams do?

posted on 28/3/20

Said since day 1. Which ever path they choose, its going to upset a lot of people. The only way everyone wins morally is if the season is played over the course of summer and into next season. Id ditch the cups next season if needed, to save a few weeks. Could even have a super league for the elite and have a club world cup for the rest of the leagues

Certainly believe its fairer to ruin next season which hasn't started, as opposed to ruining this one that is 75% completed
