I just find it amazing that any President could go on national TV and state, if we lose 100,000 - 200,000 lives then we've done a good job.
They had an enormous amount of time to prepare for the inevitable.
Then again, they aren't the brightest of bunch.

China have definitely lied about their death total, that goes without saying.
Only 3300+ deaths considering other countries with much smaller populations.

Maybe not, it could come down to genetics. Not surprised the UK has a high death rate, talk about a nation with a perennial cold, sore throat or cough but that comes from the damp atmosphere i guess.

Italy first reported case 29th Jan,UK first reported case 30th Jan.Still don't get this 2 weeks behind Italy scenario that keeps on getting trotted out
....
The respective time each country went into lockdown would be my guess.

One morgue alone in Wuhan was caught on camera receiving 10,000 urns over the course of 2 days during the lock down.
Not saying people didn’t die for other reasons but that was a lot of urns needed in one morgue in one city

If you look at the number of deaths so far by 1 million of population you can have a better indication how Nations are faring at present.

I don’t think it is correct to say Italy is doing better unless that guide line is for their curve of new case starting to flatten out.
It had now been at around 5,500 a day for the last week or so.
I think we can say that are doing well when the new cases drop substantially below that.

He's simply setting up a narrative. Declare a worst case scenario, and then claim victory when the eventual numbers end up lower.
It's like going to bed drunk without locking your doors and then declaring victory in the morning after you realise the burglars took everything in your living room but missed the cash box under the credenza.

Can’t remember the name of the person, but in the official Downing Street press conference the other day it was stated that keeping it below 20k would be a success. When you factor in the differences in population, it’s pretty much the same statement as Trump.
