Good to know.
Not sure about the Royal one but on the NHS and approved today.
Think they might be the same thing, so yes got accepted, downloaded the app and I'm on call as we speak. However I've been on call for 6 hours and not heard anything.
On the app you can see other volunteers in your area, within a 1 mile radius there are 13 of us!
Wanted to do this when they first spoke about it but weighed it up and time wise we have several family members who are relying on us as third only way of shopping or medical supplies. (Missus working from home and I was furloughed so we can only do that in the evenings or weekends too)
Wish I could but well done to everyone who volunteered their time
Could be an OBE in it as well

Didn't want to watch the news to find out as the current news is just so depressing and full of scaremongering and sad stories.

Me too.
🤣 Just realised who you mean admin.
I got rejected because the photo I sent them of my passport was too blurry. Fair enough. I'll try again tomorrow.
I work with quite a lot of older folks and a lot of our customers are older too. Already offered to do shopping for some of them, so didn't have the time to sign up for this. Especially since I can't drive and so will have to rely on another family member to help slightly...
Royal voluntary service is the NHS one.
Got the approval for it, they send a link for you to download the app and log in with the same login that you registered with.
You can put when you're available and also see others around you.
They can then buzz you in case of need.
Still waiting...takes a week, bud👍
Mine came through at 2 pm this afternoon.
