At work with 100% wage.
Social distancing being taken very seriously.
Lots of virtual meetings.

This is my third week working from home.

Robbed everything I could from the office

Currently got everything set up on my ironing board as I've nothing else to put it on. It's ergonomic at least given I can raise or lower it

While I didn't agree with the UKs original approach, I genuinely think that Johnson listened to the medics and scientists and followed their advice. I don't think that element is his fault and I think we all had to put our trust in the experts. Each country is unique and our response had to be different to the likes of China for a million reasons because we are very different to them.

I do think he was slow to react in taking precautionary measures such as stocking up on important medical supplies. I also think things like asking Dyson to make ventilators rather than existing manufacturers smacked of political games rather than doing the best for the people of the UK. On that front he is accountable.

ginger,

the only deaths being reported are people who have died in hospital of coronavirus, Sir Patrick Vallance confirmed that last night and had to because the ONS are going to publicise today or tomorrow the amount of deaths of people who never died in hospital.

I do agree you hear 1 good story to every 50 bad ones, there was an 82 year old in England who has recovered from a heart attack, a stroke and covid19 in the space of 6 months

We've already lost 3(i think) doctors, the potential number of NHS that will die could be very sobering

the first thing the government need to do when this is all over is get separate payment banding for nurses and give them the wage rise they've always deserved

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Absolutely agree.

My fear is that as ever we forget the good guys and revert to type.

I hope not.

he's a bumbling fool who has been given bad advise while also making bad decisions of his own.

on the press briefings a daily mirror journalist asked this as his question

'Will the government support the Daily Mirror campaign for medals to be handed out to NHS staff'

I mean come on to fook

we need people with medical/scientific backgrounds asking these questions

Your average Gammon would love to see the Queen slapping medals onto Doctors, Nurses and Binmen.

Ghod - I think part of the problem with these briefings is that journalists aren't allowed follow up questions, so the ministers can just swerve the questions as best they can.

While I think we can give them sympathy for mistakes made because it's a very unique crisis, they should still be held to account for the decisions they make and they should be forced to communicate accurately to the people.

While their elected members of parliament vote against wage rises for them and send those without a British passport home.

we're also only counting deaths as people who have died in hospital not people who have died in nursing homes, in their own homes, hospices etc

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes we are. Anyone even remotely showing signs of Coronavirus having died is included. We’ve even had people die for other completely unrelated reasons and still Coronavirus was given as cause of death. A bloody mainline newspaper had to pull an article.

This is serious. I’m not suggesting it isn’t but it’s being ghoulishly glorified and hysterically trumpeted in all media sources.

And still we don’t fully understand this thing.

Any half decent signs albeit far too early to take any credence from is buried in the news. It’s symptomatic of today’s world. Nobody wants to read of good news unless it’s wee Samantha singing to the fwcking Pope or something. Everyone wants bad news.

The media have been an utter disgrace and have featured very heavily in the fearmongering which is bad enough at the best of times.

I hope and pray that we manage this quickly and efficiently and some doom mongers are left looking stupid after all this. Not that I believe for a second we didn’t do the right things when we didn’t know what we were dealing with.

This is all being politicised now. The real battle should be in the hospitals, care centres and research. Not on a fwcking tv screen or a red top. So we suddenly believe their screaming headlines are now a bastion of truth or something?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So what did wee Samantha sing to the Pope?

Tell me it was "Papa Franscesco" and swinging her scarf around her head??

Did you all see the Elvis karaoke guy in Coatbridge? Terrific. If that was Spain it would be worldwide press instead it's a laughing stock as it's Scotland. I thought it was just class

I’d rather they got a wage commensurate with their skills and value.

But you don’t like that do you?

i'd like them to get a raise, they do a hard job.

you want them to get a raise by killing off the poor and funding it with the money saved there.

probably twist your nipples and praise boris when you see it on the news

"100 poor people died today..."

give them nipps a good tugging then wont you

posted on 31/3/20

There will be zero wage increases after this
