He does seem like a bit of a nugget. Looked like he had settled down the last year or two, but maybe he just hasn't been caught doing anything daft?
Will be interesting to see if the Police take action regarding his driving. If they pursue him for a driving offence then that is a pretty clear sign that they believe he is drunk.
The best players often have character flaws and a disrespect for authority. Let he who is without sin and all that...
I'd take him at United in a heartbeat.
The lad is 24, cut him some slack. I was smoking weed, drinking 5 nights a week, taking XTC, LSD, Shrooms and Coke. Flunked school, joined the army, and sorted myself out by the time I was 30.
He sees he was wrong, apologised and seems to a genuine good lad. We are all allowed to make mistakes if we learn from them.
End of.

No-one is saying that he is the devil. But you want players that are focused and who don't bring a load of baggage with them. We already have a circus around Pogba. Do we need another?

Well, yes. If the price is right.
Stupid decision by the lad, he's apologised and paid a fine
Time to move on

Loads of bagage, calm down.
Who says he's not focussed? He obviously is because is a very good, and wanted, player, who is captain at his club.
He's a big time Charlie at Villa and in his childhood town of Brum.
If he went to a big club like United... away from his home, family and friends he would get a stark awakening and have to grow up very quickly and realise that he had a lot of work to do to keep up with the better players around him and to gain the respect of United supporters and Mancs who don't give a stuff that he is 'one one of our own', as they do at Villa Park.

He has been in the papers several times for the wrong reasons. He obviously likes a drink, apparently smokes and doesn't take his career as seriously. We have seen with Rooney that this kind of approach, coupled with playing a lot of games from a young age, is likely to see his career start to falter before it should. I wouldn't be against signing the lad - he looks quality. Just not convinced that Ole will be impressed with his latest mistake.

If it is the end of.
Being a diiiiiickhead off the pitch doesn’t mean he’s not focused on it, in fairness.
Young people make mistakes.
People say Lingard is a bit of a bell off the pitch but on it he...
Oh, never mind.
The fact that he is clearly a moron is yet another reason why I didn't want him at United.
Primarily, he just doesn't fit -as United playing personnel and Ole's playing style shows. There are better and more suitable players for United.

i think the best thing for grelish would be a move away from the safety and comfort of his home team.
just might be the kick in the rear to make his career a long one.
I'd rather him than some social media moron at the club.
"I get the feeling this idiot would rather be out with his mates."
Have you seen him play? He works his ballacks off.
Going back historically - Unfortunately you expect this from some young individuals...
He was wrong, but more importantly he admitted and apologised
To say "Don’t want this idiot at our club" - and if this phrase is applied on all players on all fronts - each club will lose a handful of influential players
