i think they will do whatever the epl do.

they are spineless and wont want to make a call
---------------------------------------------------------------

I really don't understand this point of view.

Why should the EPL decision determine what we do? Because they are the geographically closest big league?

So what?

We need to make our own decision. It has feck all to do with England.

Personally I don't think there is a right answer to this situation if it cant be played to a finish and whatever happens will cause a proper sheidt storm.

I don't think there is any way you can give celtic the title as long as Rangers have a chance of winning it.

Yes it would be a massive ask for Rangers. Of course I don't think Rangers will win the league if it is played to a finish. Particularly given the form both teams were in Jan/Feb.

Clearly Rangers came back from the winter break in terrible form. But as folk have said if they win their game in hand and the two OF games then its down to four points.

Celtic dropped 5 points in a week earlier this season against Hibs and Livvy so it is far from impossible.

As long as there is some chance they could win the league Rangers will not accept the title being given to celtic. And as a club and a business that is entirely the right view to take IMO.

Ideal scenario is to play to a finish.

Anything other than that....good luck to everyone involved

see when this is over, it will he interesting to see how many people catch the flu etc next year

will lessons be learned?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Particularly if hand washing is preached the kids currently on lockdown. I think it will lead to a massive change in seasonal cold and flu rates. Many of the SARS impacted countries have had sanitiser at the doorways of shops and public transport. They have also handled this outbreak fairly well.

I don't disagree with that, but I don't expect them to do it.

I think they will wait and see what the EFL do, and follow suit, as if that's the benchmark.

I expect nothing from the football authorities in this country.

Dafuq?

I agree with Hamish.

Goes without saying I agree with Ghod too.

As regards Cheltenham. I went on the Friday and I’ve never seen so many places to sanitise you’re hands with practically everyone using them and scrubbing for ages after being in the loo. In so saying it should have been cancelled but was no way I was missing out on the helicopter

But why should the EPL be our benchmark?

They are nothing to do with our league.

In all honesty I think null and voiding is a possibility if playing to a finish cannot reasonably be done.

Taking just the Premiership into account - if you award the league then Celtic will have been awarded a league that Rangers undeniably had a (admittedly outside) chance of winning.

If you void it then Rangers and Celtic have both been denied the chance of winning the league that celtic had a much better chance of winning.

I absolutely accept there isn't a lot in it bit from a sporting point of view voiding it is marginally fairer than awarding it to celtic.

Awarding it would be absolute. Celtic would be given a title they absolutely did not win by the rules of the competition set out at the start.

And I understand there is provision to change the end date of the season with the rules of our league. But that has to be agreed by the board. Which Stuart Robertson is a member of.

There are rules to cover an unfinished league..

As ever they are open to interpretation

theres more of a chance awarding it than making it null and void

see if the German/Spanish/Italian leagues werent so tight I reckon UEFA would make the decision for everyone

it's like a game being called off with 10 mins to go n one team is 4 or 5-0 up

theres a chance that they could come back but lets use some common sense

if it wasn't Rangers in second place they would no hesitation in awarding it

Even using your analogy (which I don't agree is an accurate one) football has proven that strange things can happen....

Sometimes tides turn and teams collapse. It has happened in the past.

I certainly didnt see it happening this season. But then I didnt see our collapse in form after Christmas coming.

This break in proceedings has come when the gap has been at its widest - Rangers have had their worst run of form and celtic their best.

I have no doubt that there is still some belief that this couldbe turned round. Even if it is just a small chance then there is no way the club will agree to awarding the league to Celtic.

And frankly I would agree with that.

Just heard that a FTSE 250 company that supply the oil industry are going straight for redundancies and not furlough because they just can't see the economy pick up any time soon ergo the oil price too.

@RorySmith
Belgium becomes the first European league (I think) to make a decision: rest of the season cancelled, and effectively the most recent standings declared final. So Club Brugge are champions, and Gent go into the CL as runners-up. Relegation still to be decided.
