Imagine being so close, then something out of to ur control stop you from getting to it.

Curse this horrible virus, but I’m sure it will be taken on the chin by all it impacts and the tragic situation that caused it never forgotten.

"It was acknowledged that the Premier League will not resume at the beginning of May - and that the 2019-20 season will only return when it is safe and appropriate to do so."

You need to read the facts before cumming.

Why? It's right that the season is resumed when safe to do so. No qualms with any reds.

The worst part about this is it happening in our Centenary!..

I'm still hoping,(and think!)things will get done correctly and they'll finish the leagues fairly for all!..

I say for all, hopefully they'll let the lower leagues have their chance as well!..

Yeah the season will be finished before any new one starts. Just common sense really when no guarantees the new season won't end up being scrapped.
Be interesting to see how they handle player contracts that expire but again, it's easily rectified.

There you go again. Jumping to conclusions.

Once you realise that life and death are more important and something Gin out of anyone’s control denied the title the easier it will be come October/November when football restarts in some form

So this seasons Premier League will be finished, no matter how long it takes.
As has been previously said, the whole competition would be entirely compromised in terms of the integrity of the competition, and sponsorship and TV revenue going forward.
Obviously this news is painful for some who were gleefully hoping a global pandemic costing the lives of 100 of thousands of people might save their team from relegation, having a poor season, or cost teams they don't like from having various levels of success, but let's be honest, did anyone ever take those type of people seriously on this forum?
Once this horrific period is over, at least we can return to some sort of normality, and enjoy the conclusion of what will be the most memorable, and elongated season in footballing history.
Keep safe everyone.

We are happy to wait. First priority is the safety of the country and when it is safe to play we will happily pick up the trophy.

You can wish as much as you want but the season will not get cancelled/void despite you getting excited.

Baz time isn't something we are going to run out of shortly.
You seem to struggle to grasp that scrapping this season doesnt mean next season will just start with no issues. It doesn't mean it'll start at all.
If they scrap this year and the outbreak returns, after a few games next season, then football as we know it won't exist.

When it's safe it'll restart and finish. The virus is still running rife everywhere. It's going to get much worse yet. I can't see anything starting to sept/Oct, maybe not til Xmas. Can't start a new season then....
They will scrap the cups if anything and just play them behind closed doors, with quarantined staff and players.

If they can’t finish the season before the start of the next, then they’ll likely pull it. Time is relative.

UEFA

They have been put into place by the big boys. Earlier on the UEFA president said season could be lost but now he is towing the line because what he forgot was that the big boys will not accept season to be void:

England - Liverpool
Spain - Barca/Real Madrid
Italy - Juve
Germany - Bayern
France - PSG
Portugal - Porto/Benfica
Holland - Ajax

We are talking about some of the European elite. They tell UEFA how it work and not the other way.

Might not have sufficient clubs left to fulfil the remaining fixtures once it's safe to return to playing. How do you resume the season then?

Rumours are that three top Italian clubs want the season called as it is.
