Not all of these were created during the 90s but played during them

Yo La Tengo
Pavement
Belle and Sebastian
Rage Against the Machine
Pixies
Portishead
The Strokes
The New P()rnographers
Radiohead
Sunny Day Real Estate
NIN
The Afghan Whigs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? This list does nothing for you guys? Theres not a taste bud between the lot of you. Fecking heathens.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a good list.

I would add PJ Harvey, Swell and The Prodigy.

Portishead - Sour Times
Pavement - Slanted & Enchanted

Two great albums. I love the Pixies but their 90s stupp. Wasn't a patch on Surfa Rosa and Doolittle.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
How'd I forget PJ??

Red Hot Chilli peppers - great band
Limp Bizkit
Offspring
Eminem
Dr Dre
Any era of hip hop during the 90s/ early 00s was when it was at its best.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Eminem was defo 2000s
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes mainly, but his slim shady LP was 1999, so could still be classed as 90s

Any Weezer fans here ?

Such an underrated band
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. Saw them at Reading 1996.

Butthole Surfers were on before them and sarcastically asked the crowd not to throw mud at “those nice boys in Weezer”.

Amazing lineup at that festival: RHCP, Prodigy, Weezer, Offspring, Rage Against The Machine, RFTC, Black Grape, Stone Roses, Sonic Youth, Underworld, Moby, Screaming Trees, Tortoise, Ben Folds Five...
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I love the Roses and was only 12 in 1996 but apparently they were horrific at Reading

Worst concert I’ve ever seen. Bunch of college preppys standing around talking amongst themselves for an hour and a half until they played that song they had a hit with, and then everyone pulled out their cigarette lighters, held them aloft, sang along, went home.

Yep hip hop during the east/ west coast war at its best. Death row records etc. Biggie, PAC, outlaws, Nate Dogg, snoop , Dre , Eminem, ice cube, Xzibit, Kurupt, Warren G etc etc some hip hop legends in there.

The 90`s was a golden era for rock bands, I was a teenager of the early to mid 90`s and was massive fan of the grunge scene as well as other bands of the time.

I always thought Mudhoney were underrated, Motorhead were great and Lemmy was the godfather of Rock and Roll.

Yeah this was in Boston, so a big college town. Preppy student @ssholes who listened only to college rock radio attending the show. I didn’t know them, wifefrom liked them, but the crowd were just embarrassing. Nothing really to do with the bands performance. Couldn’t believe that the headline act was on and most of their “fans” were too busy trying to score with some spring break deaf in the head bimbo. We just stood at the back, completely aghast at what we were seeing!

A lot of indie/rock fans seem to be on this thread, but I was more of a hip hop fan growing up in the 90s/00s. Although I did have a range of music I liked. I.e American grunge like Offspring/ Green day etc, plus loved house music back in the day. Some classics.
