Not a great situation but at least the club are topping up the wages so they get full whack
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah.
Not the club's fault I guess then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well when you cheat you more money to throw about in your tin pot clubs case
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spending our owner's money is not cheating. Going to the govt with a begging bowl after recently declaring record revenues and profits is cheating.

No matter how you try to spin it, it will always be a tainted title.

18.5+6.

Tainted titles are the ones that will be taken away from City when the league is done with them.

If they can kid UEFA into beliving they spent over £50m on a stadium that was never built you can be sure they'll factor in taxpayers money when it comes to FFP next time round.

Every trophy you've won since the Stanley Park scam is tainted, good job there's only 1 of them.

I'm frothing with laughter as I didn't think your club could sink any lower.

Can’t disagree with that.

FFP was set to help Liverpool and the so called big clubs.

Now those with wealthy backers are handcuffed by silly rules. Except if that comes to paying staff and failing FFP.

I hope City get the Government to pay our UEFA fine.

Did Liverpool fans think United players using a tax loophole was fair.

Did they think the tax avoidance scheme used by Jimmy Carr was fair. Maybe the millionaire Jimmy Carr can use this scheme as he isn’t touring at the moment and must have staff to pay/himself.

Horrible, dirty corporate greed.

This support wasn’t in time to save Bury, but it is keeping Liverpool just going by stopping Mark and Tina’s £1’500 a month from crippling them while Mo and Co keep getting their meagrely wage.

Shame on Newcastle, Spurs and any other top flight club who does it. If this starts at Everton I’m asking for a ST refund-will check what’s gone out for next season.

I'm not really sure how well we're run has anything to do with this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A well run club does not go cap in hand to the govt for bailout.

Are you an actual idiot or just pretending ?

Another horrible statement by the pfa

We can't cut players wages because it would cost the NHS £200m in paye taxes.

Most of your clubs would be championship fodder but for bail outs

I hate Liverpool but at least they have history and tradition that makes them a big club

Man city ,and Chelsea are just wee manufactured clubs pretending to be big guns whilst the funding is in place

It's difficult to police this furlough system. A club may have record revenues but be genuinely making little profit. They genuinely may have little cash in the bank to pay wages without income for the next 3 months. Then again, clubs which have massive reserves which can be seen on companies house, should not be using the furlough scheme. That's what the reserves are there for. At a time when things are tough enough for everyone, they don't need to be claiming govt help to pay their staff, when they can easily do it themselves.

The govt have opened this scheme to every business. Little or large. Your local takeaway can furlough staff and so can that horrible ugly man Phillip Green and his Arcadia group

Morality isn't coming into this. If it's a way of getting free money then people will go for it.

I hope my club doesn’t. They have already agreed to pay matchday staff for the remainder of this seasons games if played or not.

Non matchday staff still being paid, I hope helping the local community where safe and possible.

It’s always the low earners who are hit first. Would hope if cash flow was an issue then players would defer wages to ensure the people key in the day to day running are looked after. It’s a luxury most PL players can afford.
