I’m sure there was quite a few but 3 goals doesn’t suggest domination.

Fair. Got my stats elsewhere but again does not suggest domination.

The only nightmare I remember Vidic having against him was in the 4-1.

Yeah think it was three games in a row he destroyed him. Not much change out of the others.

Biggest myth in football? Liverpool being a working class club after sponging off the tax player to pay their non playing staff.

I remember Vidic going through a spell of having nightmares against us in general and getting sent off three times in a row.

You can terrorise a defender without getting in the score sheet.

What a terrible barometer the OP is using.

Torres scored 3 goals against a team not Vidic, but make no mistake he terrorised.

Vidic got sent off 4 times in a row against us didn't he?

As mentioned, his Chelsea matches where he was a washed up dud hardly count do they.

I'm going from some sketchy memory here, but I remember thinking at the time it was a bit of a myth, yeah.

07/08 - Torres did nothing in either game.

08/09 - Torres didnt play at Anfield. Tore him apart at Old Trafford.

09/10 - The game at Anfield, I think it was Rio he troubled that time? Vidic got sent off later on but I dont think Torres was involved. He scored at Old Trafford early on but I remember us controlling the rest of the game.

10/11 - Dont remember Torres doing much at Old Trafford in the Berba hat-trick game. Moved to Chelsea after that where he was a non-entity.

Was a top player Torres, but I dont think he 'tore us apart' to the extent, say, Aguero has over the years.

You know what I partially agree with you. He was a very good player but not one of the all time greats that he’s been portrayed as since retirement.

I've spent a lot of time watching old United games during lockdown and he really, really was quality.

I also watched the England vs Croatia repeat that the BBC played and out of the midfield 4 of himself, Becks, Lampard & Gerrard, I thought he was by far the best. I actually thought Gerrard was the worst (on the day) - the amount of times he gives the ball away compared to not just Scholes, but Lampard too was interesting to see.

Scholes' shaping of the play, passing precision and intelligence was different level to most of his peers.
