Probably because he was grinning like a hyena on meth boasting about shaking hands with infected patients pal

How can anyone say he didn’t take it seriously enough

What a pathetic, immature and silly comment to make

We were facing an unknown virus in an unprecedented situation- he made all his decision on the expert advice given to him at the time

Hindsight is an amazing thing and you can make such better decisions with it - but that doesn’t mean he didn’t do his best and make the best choice given to him at the time
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If he took it more seriously he would have locked down sooner.

It's pretty elementary really.

Unless you're saying he took it as seriously as he possibly could...

Then of course it's his abilities in question.

Doing your best doesn't necessarily mean you have done the right thing or made the right decision in the circumstances. The fact is people were calling out these things a month ago.

At the end of the day Robb I’m not interested in trying to win arguments. I’ll make my points as I always do - I’ll defend the government at this time because we’re in the middle of a global pandemic not seen for 100 years and also because the PM is in intensive care.

I don’t think it’s the right thing to do to point fingers at a time like this - I think it’s a good time to pull together and find solutions. The time for criticism will come and it’s right that takes place.

Enjoy your evening

He's in intensive care because he didn't take it seriously enough

He didn't take it seriously enough because he either:
a) had incorrect advice
b) made the right decisions
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s a highly contagious and new disease that will likely infect the many of us over the next 12 months either with this wave or an even bigger second wave in the autumn/winter. It seems bizarre to be criticising a PM currently in intensive care

One thing I will say is pretty much every scientist in labs is working on this. One of my good mates, who I've known for 20 years, is now working with the virus daily to get a vaccine. Everything he was doing at the start of the year has been dropped. It's all about solving this now. That should give us hope. There are thousands of scientists worldwide doing nothing but this now.

I'm sorry but he was chuckling in a conference flippantly talking about shaking hands with covid patients. I'll happily say such it was at the least unbecoming of the PM and the message we were trying to get across to the people of the UK.

We are looking at a peak in the next 2 week and according to data models, the deaths should fall after that. However, even June seems a bit optimistic for the country to get back to normal.
One thing that will change things is if we can do a test for antibodies in people, so we can see if people have already had it and gotten over it, then those people can go back to work etc.
We don't know if you can catch it again though in the future. That's the big question.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Guarantee within days of "normality" there will be another outbreak and the panic will start again.

So it's ok to criticise him if he wasn't in intensive care?

I think it's fairly clear he didn't take it seriously enough as he is in intensive care with covid-19 which he didn't care about catching if he was shaking hands with those infected with it.

Yep really simple to lock the whole country down - there’s absolutely no effects of that whatsoever. Economically we will be fine, there’s loads more money where the £330bn came from an absolutely no vulnerable lives will be lost due to mass unemployment and the resulting poverty

We kicked Neville Chamberlain out at the height of the war once we realised that only a military man could see us through it.

We then kicked Churchill out as soon as the war ended, when we realised he wasn't made out to be a peacetime leader. A fact that was proven correct during his disastrous second post-war term.

Crisis situations will always require an open-minded approach to criticising our leadership. Your stubborn approach would have had us all speaking German.

It was before social distancing was being widely talked about in the western world. We were all mingling and socialising. Or were you walking around town 2 metres apart from everyone else wearing an n95 mask back then?
