Wenger.
I thought it was lack of pace & mental strength + injuries
Lack of pace doesn't stop a defender reaching the top, look at the great Per Mertesacker.
Mental strength was due to poor management.
Poor phillipe
Had at least 12 managers in his career and was failed by every one
No, only one. Mr Wenger destroyed him.

Well we've all heard the stories
Always liked Senderos. Tonnes of ability, read the game well, decent passer (for a CB). He just kinda had a mental thing with certain players.
Not the worst defender bought in by Wenger by a long way.
Plus he has always come across as a decent bloke too. Hopefully he'll move into coaching.

I remember one game he had bandages on his head and was heading away everything. My dad joked that Wenger had a spring installed underneath.
So there's that.
Also I was thinking the other day of watching every game in the CL run, anyone know where you can get full games?

Yes, his turning around in circles kept the ball well away from both goals to let time tick away.
Before joining Arsenal, Senderos was the highest rated young defender in Europe. Was a massive coup for Arsenal
Drogba ruined him just like Torres ruined Vidic difference is Fergie then protected Vidic every time they player Liverpool whereas Wenger just carried on with his usual gung ho approach to games.
Djourou was the more talented Swiss defender.
