Play was a good album in all fairness.

No expecting you to listen to, or like any of the following, DJ. But here are 10 albums (5 was too hard) in no particular order, I'd recommend to anyone who's still reading after 50 comments:

The National 'Alligator'

Bob Dylan 'Bringing It All Back Home'

Miles Davis 'Sketches Of Spain'

Fever Ray 'Fever Ray'

Talk Talk 'Laughing Stock'

Kraftwerk ' Computer World'

Portishead 'Third'

Radiohead 'In Rainbows'

Kurt Vile 'Smoke Ring For My Halo'

Tom Waits 'Mule Variations'

Hopefully a few decent recommendations there to help get people through their afternoons.

I'd recommend Every Child a Daughter, Every Moon a Sun by - The wooden sky.
One of the most beautiful albums around.

I think it is the wrong time of day for this...

Might just go for a Bob Marleyathon

Love a bit of Portishead and Miles Davis, Lex.

Probably not to popular with a lot of people bit back to bedlam and all the lost souls by James Blunt were fantastic albums, a bit soppy but nice and relaxing.

1. Father John Misty - Pure Comedy.

A perfect record for this era we live, it mixes satire and sincerity to complex themes of politics, consumerism, religion and existentialism.

2. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs.

Probably the best album by the Canadian band, and a modern classic. The highlight of the album being Sprawl II.

3. Sufjan Stevens - Illinois & Carrie and Lowell.

Two album to recommend from the same artist. The first being a tribute to the state of Illinois; with complex song writing and instrumentation - mixing folk, baroque and jazz. The latter being a beautiful tribute to his dead mother; with beautiful melodies and songwriting.

Other recommendations:

4. Godspeed! You Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven.

5. Frank Ocean - Blonde

6. Death Grips - The Money Store

7. Beach House - Bloom

8. Television - Marquee Moon

9. Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over the Sea.

10. Mitski - Bury Me at Makeout Creek

Unknown Pleasures - Joy Division
The magnum opus of 70's explorative post punk following the mess that was prog rock and Sexx Pistols inspired nonsensical (musically) punk. Doesn't include their most commercially successful single, "Love will tear us apart" but definitely the most complete and honest insight into the complex mind of Curtis.

Hat full of Hollow - The Smiths
There isn't a Smiths album that wasn't great, but for anyone that hasn't listened to a Smiths album (get your life in order firstly) this is probably the best introductory album ever penned to really get the feel of band's strengths, sound and vision. Morrisey at his whimsical best and Marr absolutely killing the riffs when given the reigns to let loose. Perfection.

The Holy Bible - Manic street Preachers
I always go back and forth between this and Gold against the Soul for my favourite Manics album, but I'll give this the nod. A disturbing album lyrically, it's made all the more tragic by the disappearance of its writer Richey Edwards and in it you can hear all his pain, anguish and heartache poured out over the course of 12 absolutely belting tracks.

A Gorgeous Fortune - KAMAUU
Technically an EP but whatever, it's bloody brilliant. An absolute triumph of profound, melodically stirring 21st century hip-hop. In just 6 songs he flits between Outkast, Fugees, A Tribe called quest and others in what, on the surface, feels fairly simplistic, but is beautifully complex in that simplicity.

Jungle - Jungle
Beautifully produced piece of modern funk, who's influence and reach you will have probably heard on British TV somewhere while advert watching over the last decade. Lazed delivery in both lyrics and instrumentals make this an ideal companion piece to the many days ahead we have to wrap ourselves up in our own thoughts thinking about the world at large. An extremely accomplished and precociously complete debut piece.

Trying Jungle now.

Giving Harvest by Neil Young a go on the recommendation of jlou.

DJ, I guess it all depends on the era we grew up in, but Sticky Fingers was one of the best albums the Rolling Stones did. I have the LP cover with the actual zip. ZZ Top's Eliminator was also one of my favorites.

Nice to go down memory lane.
