Ferdinand 07/08 ahead of Terry.
salah 17/18, PL goals 32 and 11 assists.
What did Gerrard do in the season you’ve included that’s better than any of Lampard best season op? I don’t have stats in front of me or anything and know they won the cl but Lampards better seasons surely better
Lampard 09/10 27 goals and 18 assists. Unreal from cm. won the double

Actually, Cech alone for 04/05.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s a shame there isn’t any stats from that time to back this up. But my memory is he had a really great season, but benefited because the defence was just so exceptionally good.
DDG carried a shocking Man Utd defence and the xG difference due to him was something insane like 20 goals. While making the 5th most saves in the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In a way and it’s a cliche but that made cech so good. He’d make a worldie once a game after 80 mins of nothing
I’d go with something like this
Shearer 93/94 Henry 03/04
Hazard 14/15 Lampard 09/10 Yaya 13/14 ronaldo 07/08
Makelele 04/05
Cole 11/12 Terry 04/05 vvd 19/20
Cech 04/05/06
So imbalanced but still lol
wanted Suarez too. Suprised Shearer hasn’t made more.
Lampard's 09/10 season must be ahead of an of Gerrard's?
Bergkamp's 97/98 season deserves a mention.

What I was thinking. Both unreal though and all this is fine lines. Also there’s players like kante, makelele, vieira, Scholes etc who may have had blinding seasons but due to stats or lack of, it’s hard to assess
I’m sure vidic, evra, Adams etc had great seasons during the pl era
Scholes' 02/03 was perhaps his best season stat wise.
I couldn’t remember which of the boring boring Arsenal defenders was better or who really stood out but Adams/Keown/whoever was most sober could potentially make a claim.
Lampard was already discussed in the thread.
Kevin Phillips, van persie for Utd, hasselbaink, Cantona, Rooney.
Drogba 09/10.
Biggest crime in football was Rooney winning player of the year the year drogba scored more and won the double lol. 29 goals and 13 assists in the pl compared to Rooney 26 and 5.

What were Drogba's tracking back stats mate?
Only one of them penalties and in less games I believe.
In fact in hindsight this could be the best pl season of all time.
32 games, 29 goals and 13 assists. Output of 42 goal contributions in 32 games. What a season
Also Rooney was playing at centre back that season

It was an incredible season. There have been more players in the PL than just Chelsea players though.
Laporte deserves a shout for last season potentially
Lots of CBs that would slot in first before Laporte, had a good season though
