Gutted, so sad. RIP Norman a gentleman to the end.
He needs to be recognised for his exceptional ability as a footballer. I remember there was a moment during the 1973 fa cup final, when Hunter brilliantly dribbles the ball through a group of players and David Coleman says something like "his left foot belongs in the Magic Circle"
I think he was one of Revies favourites. I remember Revie saying about him that you hit 85% every game, super consistency it’s what you build sides around.
And so passionate about Leeds in later life, literally an icon for the club.
RIP Norman, truly sad news

My favourite player of the Don's side. So skilful and decisive. Timing nearly always spot on. Give Clough a twatt**g when you get there. RIP Norm.

Great player in a great team.
RIP Norman and thanks for all the wonderful memories.
Say hello to Peter Bonetti when you get there...
Two legends of yesteryear
RIP Norman from fans around the leagues, respect Oh and St Peter you might just wanna mind yer legs as you open the gates
"Always remeber Jimmy Greaves being asked once by Jimmy Hill " Was it hard to get the ball past Norman Hunter?" Greavsie replied " Nahh it was easy to get the ball past Norman, It was getting yourself past Norman that was the problem"
Simply a Leeds legend, the real old fashion no non-sense player, part of the greatest team we've had. He is so unlucky, he was not that old, feel very sad for his family.
Norman Hunter: Leeds legend’s brilliant talkSPORT interview on Don Revie’s superb team, that Franny Lee punch-up, and George Best being man-marked into the toilet

So, so sad. I was praying he would recover. I’m so weepy today! It feels almost like I’ve lost a member of the family.
Saw Norman play back in the day...Big Match and MOTD only, and Leeds were my first football love as a kid.
Always loved and respected the hard players of that era.
RIP.
I think the saddest thing, is that despite his family, despite his fans, despite the legend he is, he will have vern all alone, no one allowed to visit him.....utterly heartbreaking, feel so sorry for his family.

So sad and sorry for the Leeds family who obviously adored him.
RIP
