For beautiful sunsets the best places I have been are Goa and Perth, W Australia. Both places are rich in iron ore deposits so you get amazing red sunsets as you watch the sun dip into the sea.

Travel abroad will become quite expensive as airlines will pump up prices.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The demand for air travel will cause prices to rocket, pardon the pun

I would like to visit your part of Ireland before I pop my clogs. The North is now a distant memory.

It’s ‘his’ island.

You better believe it I am the king of Ireland

A lot of airlines have had sales on actually... Some like Easyjet released their winter and 2021 flights early with prices anchored to try and stimulate income

I took the chance on a few deals... Not a big loss if things get worse, couple of bargains if things get better

Other than that, would love to do Iceland and had planned to before the outbreak!

......

Make sure you take plenty of money. It is really expensive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Loved Iceland was there about 15 years ago but was pricey. Was paying €7.00 a beer then!!!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There's ways to do Iceland less expensively... Airbnb close to a supermarket and cook rather than eat out, buy your booze on duty free on the way out

Its an incredible place

Went to Santorini, Thailand, Malaysia and Maldives last year. Would love to go Mexico but with a newborn on the way will be difficult with the journey.

- is your father a ghost or do you converse with the almighty?
- in order to find his equal an Irishman is forced to talk to God “yes father!”, the almighty says don’t change the subject just answer the fing question

It’s a really good movie. That character was probably my favourite

Would like to get to the house in Catalonia. It's been a while.

I went to Reykjavik a few years ago. It's stunning and I'd highly recommend it, but the weather can be an issue.

I was there between Christmas and New Year and they were cancelling quite a lot of the tours to other parts of the country because of bad weather. I got to go on a tour of a few waterfalls and, good as it was, it was so bitterly cold, windy and rainy that getting off the coach and getting my camera out became a bit of a chore

I stayed in a hostel and survived mainly on Dunkin' Donuts and supermarket sandwiches, so it can be done relatively cheaply.

Once again, though, it really is stunning and I would love to go back, though I'd probably do it in summer

I'd do Bolivia, Peru, Mexico. A big ol' trip to see as much of the Mayan/Inca/Aztec history as I could. Money and safety concerns have put me off doing it, though a one-off visit to Machu Picchu was on the horizon before all this.

When I was 16 I was stuck in Kuala Lumpur airport for 9 hours between flights and all they had open was a Dunkin donuts. Had the ultimate sugar rush getting on that plane 😹

Peru is iffy as feck unfortunately. Did a rough and ready group trip one time to Peru and Bolivia and the group before ours was held at gun point and robbed of everything.

Mexico is fine for the most part

I've stayed in Mexico City a couple of times and have been to Teotihuacán, the National Museum of Anthropology (which is absolutely amazing if you're into pre-Hispanic history) and, further afield, Monte Alban in Oaxaca.

Tikal in Guatemala is really quite something as well, although it's a mission to get there. Never done Chichén Itzá and the Mexican Riviera but it's on my list... Along with a lot of other places...

Bolivia is one of those countries I've never really thought of going to, but have only ever heard good things about.

Only done Tijuana - really want to go further south at some point and check out the pyramids

I lived near Guadalajara for a few months back in 2011 (hence my user name). Loved it there, and the weather was absolute perfection for me, but I did wish I was nearer to a few pyramids - there's not a huge amount of that sort of thing in that part of the country.

People are worked up about the markets in China, you should see the markets in Bolivia, Llama fetus everywhere

San Miguel de Allende is supposed to be pretty awesome in Mexico but not made it there yet, or to Mexico City, figure it will be a short trip when living out west.

Went right through Central America a few years ago, Nicaragua was my favourite, got a big future in tourism, the next Costa Rica.

I had a girlfriend from Guadalajara when i lived in the UK many years ago, think she lives in the states now. Talking before internet and things so when she went home i had a list of things to say so as to get hold of her via the phone, it was way too much hard work in the end.

Gonna do a massive tour of the tiny independent vineyards of Alentejo.

In some villages you can do five or so staggering from one to the next over the course of the day.

Ridiculous hospitality on those people as well. Half the time you’ll end up stuck in a cellar for hours just eating and drinking, or in someone’s front room with half the village trying everyone’s home distilled firewater.

I have two young girls so it'll be a villa in Portugal or a drive to France, depending what we fancy. Probably a caravan in the UK too.
