Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons at the same time. Keep holding them until you see the recovery mode screen.
Or
Let it die then charge again

Glad your getting sorted with another handset. I have an interest in electronics so like play around with mother boards and stuff. It can be tricky to change IPhone components - best to leave if your not confident after watching the clips.

Any luck palmers?

Not sure apple even supports iphone 6's anymore.

Time to invest in a new one I think.

It takes memory to delete stuff.. sounds weird but it’s true..

So you have to start by deleting small files and then making your way to the larger media files and videos. Could take a while.

If you can afford it the new IPhone SE 2020 edition has come out and it’s a great phone for the price.

I took it into a shop Neo and paid £40 for them to reboot it

Lost all my data though and my last back up was in April 2017

Working on downloading all my recent apps now

I will probably invest in a new phone at some point but at the moment just wanted it sorted

Oh boy....that was the very LAST thing you should have done.
First off...iphone 6 was not what you should have bought. Get an Old (new ones are still available) Iphone 5SE. Small format, best phone apple ever made.
Second, make a total review of how you use your iPhone. You are obviously disorganized and overloaded with apps.
That will lead to battery problems.
Third you should set the phone up to download data (photos) to the iCloud every night while it is charging.
That way, you wont lose stuff when you change phones or reboot.
Lastly ...keep a clean phone ...no apps that are not used on a daily basis.
And, alway close an app after each use.
Apple is coming out with a new version of the old iphone 5SE. May be worth getting, I don't know yet.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

well I'm not really sure

When I went into icloud back up on the phone, it says the icloud is full, but all my photos and videos are gone from the phone. So presumably my stuff is somewhere. But I don't ever remember setting up icloud or backing stuff up. Where would I get that?

Also, I don't know if anyone has had this, but this morning when I went to charge the phone, the charger physically wouldn't go into the phone. So when the battery runs out I won't be able to get it back on. So hopefully the shop is open tomorrow so I can go in and ask them to fix this.

Anyone know why that might be? This is doing my head in

Bloody Hell Palmers!

Maybe the phone is just f*cked?

Not sure about the iCloud, but when I’ve got my last two phones I just entered my Apple ID and all my sh*t just transferred over like magic!

posted on 19/4/20

Where did you enter your apple ID ? On a computer ?

Your charging point sounds knackered, you will need it replaced which should cost around £50-60. It’s a unit and the whole lot needs replacing. Had it done myself, don’t go too Apple though, unless you want to pay around £175.
