Some quality stuff in there. Wouldn’t have expected the likes of Dozer, Karma to Burn, Down or solace to have ever got a mention in here.

They’re ok. Saw them in Boston a bunch of years ago when they were touring the Babylon cd with the big radio player, Nobody.

Was ok. Not really my thing.

OP

Great shout for a thread.

I was into the likes of Motorhead and Sabbath and Zeppelin in the eighties, and only got into the likes of SOAD, Slupknot, Deftones and Metallica in my forties, lol.

Deftones ....Digital Bath floats my boat.

Metallica...One and Nothing else matters.

SOAD Prison song, Toxicity and Chop Suey.

Sabbath. ...War Pigs and Changes.

Motorhead, We are the Road Roadcrew and Ace of Spades.

Slipknot.. people equal schit.Duality.

Too many led zep to mention and a shout out for Korn and Pantera.

posted on 22/4/20

Only heard some Killswitch and Machinehead and Mastondon, but liked what I heard... and never heard of Dillinger or the Zombie mob, lol.

Will check it out.

Hey dude. I dig the stoner rock genre. Bands like Kyuss, Hermano, Vista Chino, Mr Plow, Earthless, Freedom Hawk, Cowboys & Aliens, Orange Goblin, Sixty Watt Shamen, Solarized, Fu Manchu, Nebula, Lowrider, Red Stoner Sun, QOTSA and the Desert Sessions. Too many to mention really. Rock/Metal music was the genre that first got my attention and love as a teenager. Kyuss and John Garcia were my induction into it. I discovered a lot of music through small independent blogs that floated around on the Internet back in the day. What stuff are you into? Do you get to many gigs?

I've not been posting as I've forgotten my password and using a temp one all the time is a pain. It won't let you change your password unless you know your current one. I used to use the old BBC 606 before it was ended and replaced by this.

Grew out of 'metal' over 40 years ago aged about 14 - as, indeed, most people should.

That being said, many of the songs/tunes listed on this thread are, whilst being stand out songs/tunes in their own right, not 'metal.

Just saying

Big stoner fan. All you’ve mentioned and more. Alabama Thunderpussey, Acid King, Atomic Bitchwax, Nebula, Fu Manchu, Acrimony, Monster Magnet, Fireball Ministry,Truckfighters.....I could go on and on.

Stoner, thrash, doom, blackened metal, that’s what I’m doing right now

Feck yeah!

Iron Monkey were magnificent! Love a nice bit of sludge. Eyehategod, crowbar. Awesome.

Had tickets to Sepultura, Savred Reich and Crowbar for a couple of weeks ago. Cancelled

Been getting into a couple of bands called Deafheaven and Inter Arma lately. Kind of like a shoe gaze black metal cross. Hard to describe. Slow melodic build ups getting heavier and heavier before it bleaching some sort of Norwegian black metal Guttural shrieks. Awesome stuff.

Saw sleep last year. Just phenomenal.
