It’s stupid that they don’t already have the 3pm KO rights to be honest. Hope it sets a precedent for all PL games to be aired on TV in England.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Completely disagree. Have you ever thought about why all PL games are not on Sky?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

* on TV

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, and I don’t agree with the logic that it affects attendances.

You’re either a match going fan, or you aren’t.

A match going Swindon Town fan isn’t going to stay home just because Bournemouth v Watford is on TV at 3pm.

Then you are wrong. It 100% impacts lower league attendances and grass roots attendances and participation. Argue it all you want but our lower division football is the envy of most in the world and it works. It has worked so far so why bow down to PL football as if it is the only thing that matters.

On a seperate note, there is bloody Fifa football on now on sky sports

Nothing definitive here, they are just doing their jobs and being seen to be exploring all potential courses of action, this will be one option out of many. This does not mean it will happen, only it may happen.

For me, the season can not be completed fairly under this plan, once a competition is suspended, the rules changed part way through and not completed within accordance of the rules set out, it can not remain right and proper.

The Dutch have taken the common sense approach, why risk trying to complete and already improper season. Unfortunately, the money involved in the PL, means the money men will be pushing for it to end, even though it has lost lost its integrity.

Whatever happens, the season has lost all meaning.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This was boring when you first posted it. No need to repeat it 150 times.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What a sad cretin he is, desperate to have the Certainty of LFC winning the league voided whilst trying to put a 'lost its integrity' spin on it.

No doubt when the league restarts, as it definitely will, and LFC are crowned Premier League Champions, as they definitely will be, we'll have to put up his constant crying.

It would make more sense to void the league completely but award Liverpool the title (just to shut them up) than restarting the league from where we are. Restarting the season after what’s likely to be a minimum 6 month break is idiotic

posted on 25/4/20

I'm sure the headline is correct, it will restart in weeks. But how many depends entirely on the covid 19 situation.
4 weeks, 14 weeks, 40 weeks, nobody knows.

posted on 25/4/20

I agree Joe apart from the brackets

Be interesting to see how any restart pans out and procedures in place to stop people gathering outside the ground etc and in what order the remaining fixtures are played in for a start.

Well you would say that wouldn`t you, because (even though it is common sense for any rational thinking human being) you don`t like to hear the facts, it goes against your club loyalty and eagerness to demand what you perceive as your entitlement.

The whole idea of playing games behind closed doors in these circumstances is morally wrong, not in accordance with the rules and unethical.

Watching a game on TV without any fans in the ground will be simply awful viewing, and I for one, would not watch any of it.

UEFA should do the sensible thing, and cancel all European football for next season. That would solve numerous problems. The problem is, for UEFA, cash is king.

Void the season and go with last seasons positions for Europe next season, easiest option.

bollocks.. yes, games behind closed doors is not ideal, it's going seem strange, even watching it on tv.
but it is the ONLY remotely viable solution the premier league has.
to claim it's morally wrong, why? just because it's played behind closed doors. well, that already happens. did you make any such fuss when clubs have been forced to play behind closed doors due to racist chanting, or violent behaviour?
but it's morally wrong now because people are dying from a virus? well, people were getting viruses and dying when those games were played behind closed doors. not as many admittedly, but it was still happening. so really what your claim is that moral viability is now dependent entirely upon scale? well that's just bullcrap.

the simple facts are the league/clubs have contracts to play those games, and have them televised. the scale of money involved in those contracts dwarves that of any other football leagues. the tv companies WIILL want that money back if those games don't happen. That will destroy top level football, and lead to the permanent closure of a large percentage of English clubs, or a realistic proposition of no top flight football for years as multiple legal challenges occur, about finances, European places, promotion/relegation, player contracts and god knows what else.
just because the Eredivisie, or a botton tier league cancels or voids it's season does not mean automatically make it a viable solution for the premier league.
for good governance, club finances, saving tens of thousands of jobs, and the fair application of sporting merit, it is imperative that the league completes the season IF it can be done in a manner that does not cause unnecessary risk to participants, or put undue strain on any of the emergency services.

You are over complicating things. They will need Euro places, they will take them from a season three quarters through, simple. And clubs that are still standing in this seasons comp will get entry as well.

And at the end of the day everyone will look back at this seasons standings as final a year from now if it is abandoned.

posted on 25/4/20

Diogo Jota just beat TAA in the final of the fifa game sky have been running so Wolves now champions and i truly believe UEFA will take those standings.
