Would make a mockery of football if that was allowed to happen.

I would however not have a problem with reverting back to Champions Only in the CL.

Such a stupid idea. Designed to pull up the drawbridge to the traditional elite

So if Sheff United won the league it won't give them CL football or that decision more based on the rest?

What a ridiculous idea.

Let's keep all the wealth with our 'friends'

Winning the league would allow you entry, but imagine Sheffield United lose the league on the final day and then told "No Champions League football for you, because nobody knows who you are..."

Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli has been vocal in his support for this move, citing Roma as an example back in March when he questioned whether it was right for Atalanta to be in this year's competition, “without international history and thanks to just one great season."

That's rich coming from a man who was convicted of ticket touting and inherited a club that's been banned 3 times for corruption.

I quite see why UEFA elected him to their Executive Committee.

This is all designed to stop City ‘competing’ in the CL.

European super league by another name.

Uefa are so scarred of a breakaway league its almost inevitable.

It would be hilarious if a trillionaire bought Atalanta and they won the league every season

Stupid idea, however that would make getting top 4 over the next few years a must in the build up to this.

Then you would need to at least progress from the group stage to have the placing on the UEFA's domestic club rankings list.

Would there be a country limit of clubs going into the competition

What’s their definition of successful? Arsenal have never won it, but they’ve been more successful in the tournament than City and Spurs, historically.

from the OP it looks as though they would look at your European history over the past 4 seasons

I wondered how UEFA were going to respond to the Newcastle takeover...

That wasn’t what Forza was talking about.

Spurs appeared in a European Cup semi-final about 30 years before Arsenal. Both have appeared in one final and another semi-final.

I think only clubs with stadium capacities over 60,000 should be allowed to compete. After all UEFA want clubs that can generate the most income.

Probably prompted by the Newcastle takeover.

This is about the Champions League. But even still, Arsenal have been in the last 16 and quarters many more times than Spurs and City. So the point remains.
