Well you did promise us a Part 2 of your article Brum.

That was a great double header final Brummie, right up there with the best finals I have seen, along with our own Double header in 1981.

I can still see that David Webb winner.

I will tell you a little story, I was courting a young lady at the time, which supported Chelsea, she preferred to go the the semi-final at WHL on the Saturday than go out with me, thus ended another happy romance.

Well we couldn't let the 50th anniversary go without marking the occasion 69!

I'll do another for the 75th anniversary if I'm still around!!

Yes Brum... Ossie's goal stands alongside Bridge's winner at Arsenal in the ECL semi, a Frank winner against Liverpool, Fernando's in the Barcelona semi, and of course Drog's header and pen, as the most stunningly emotional goals of my Bloo lifetime!

There was another goal that made me cry for ages afterwards - for all the wrong reasons. 1960 -ish I was 13 and the all-conquering Spurs were at the Bridge: as I remember it we went 2.0 down, and maybe lost a man through injury. So 10 men then, and we battled back to level the scores; and then, then Jimmy moves onto a through ball (yes we still had him) and slots in the winner!! Ref disallows it for offside. I think Spurs went on to win 4.2.

Hi bloo, while it was a great goal in its own right; there have been better and more important ones since but to an 11 year old of that period, where the FA Cup was probably more important than the league it was a magical moment in my life, especially with the backdrop of The Stretford End erupting behind.

Still with the memory of the defeat to Spurs three years earlier and within 12 minutes of losing that one, I doubt those emotions will ever be surpassed again.

I once took a girlfriend to watch Arsenal v Leeds at Highbury. Not sure what I was on back in the day.

I think it finished 3-2 Spurs mate, I was at the game at WHL, which was 4-2. Jimmy scored both Chelsea goals.

Wow Sandy! We go back a long long way. Seeing Jimmy's early Chelsea games was a touchstone in my life - it was like a magic show. He did the business for you lot too. So privileged to have seen all that.

And by the way I still think that Spurs side was the greatest team ever. Their only tactic was to go out and score more goals than the opposition, each and every match. What more is there to the game of football?

Some great memories there lads. I struggle to remember that much about games I went to this season!

I can remember games from 60 years back Brummie, but ask me about games a week before lockdown and I cannot remember the scorers.
