Im the high risk category so id rather keep it safe until it is so. But i understand that we need to restart things again at some point but not until the infection rate is low.
There will be a 2nd wave for sure but by then i hope we can deal.with it.
Personally, im wfh for as long as i can.

The stats for our country’s handling of this pandemic are appalling. The fourth worst in the world for deaths.

For that reason there should be no relaxation of the lockdown rules for the foreseeable future. Enough damage with far reaching consequences has been done already IMO.

No easing. Mainly because I don’t want to die alone, painfully drowning in my own fluids and then have nobody at my funeral, and secondly because I don’t want to inflict the same fate on others.

As soon as the lockdown is partially lifted the figures will go up again.

As for kids going back to school that's to high a risk , what with this new illness related to covid-19.

I'm bored shatless at the moment but have rediscovered some simple things in life and am starting to appreciate it.

We've come this far and there is still hundreds being admitted to hospital, why ease off now and risk potential second wave where we'd face a second lockdown.

We've boxed ourselves into a dark corner with the "strategy" that the government chose to impose on us.

There is no workable exit strategy now that will not expose the stupidity of the first phase, both socially and economically.

It's been quite tragic watching the government make mistake after mistake, I am expecting them to carry on down that route at every opportunity as well.

What has happened in our care homes is nothing short of a shameful, mass culling of the herd, and involuntary man slaughter charges should be persued at a later date.

At the very least if a lockdown is lifted, mass testing at care homes must be a high priority and sadly people who would normally visit their relatives in care homes should stay away for much longer.

This. Its almost like they did it on purpose. How do you fail so abysmally? unless you're actually trying to?

The issue here is that we have to find a balance. Cancer diagnosis has gone down by 3/4s and people's mental wellbeing are being comprised for those most vulnerable to it.

I support the lockdown at the moment but we cannot save, say, 400 lives a day for coronavirus and lose 1000 due to negligence as a result of coronavirus.

Id also like to hear some sort of plan from the government on one of these daily briefings about how that may work. Its unacceptable to keep telling us we are focused on now and no one needs to know. We do want to have an idea. But please don't let Matt Hancock tell us, I literally despise that bloke.

I think full lockdown should stay for the next month, minimum, and if still too risky extended for another month, and so on.

Why a month doggie? Not disputing it should remain but what makes you say a month?

Because I said full lockdown. Every month maybe there should be an assessment aimed at reducing lockdown measures where possible, and only where possible so as to boost the economy.

If things improve in the coming months then this should happen fortnightly and so on...

Have you guys checked what our government is trying here is South Africa. They've introduced a 1-5 level type system for the lockdown. Level 5 being the highest and current full lockdown that we're all experiencing. Then they ease the industries and social stuff as the levels go down. Also there's a national level and provincial level.

Obviously it sounds nice in theory but actual implementation will be the hard part given the people we have to deal with in today's world.

Of course lockdown should stay as long as possible. OK the economy will take a hit, but lives are far more important than any economical reason to lift it.

Unfortunately there have been so many mistakes from this incompetent Government, that is very difficult to see where we really do go from here.

Yesterday I watched Hancock Waffle on for about 10 minutes on testing and capacity, and not once did he mention how many had actually been tested on an individual day. Shamefully not one of the journalists questioned him about this either. Which makes me think everything is being stage-managed to put the Government in a good light.

Even the so called medical and scientific experts on these daily briefings seem to be following Government lines of answering questions. Everyday they come out with we are on track as we thought we would be. What!!! they are miles out with their assessment that 20,000 deaths would be a good outcome. When the total is probably nearing 40,000, and it is nowhere near over. I suspect it will easily top 100,000 by the time this is over, and maybe a lot more.

Frankly I don`t trust anybody at the moment to actually tell us the truth.

the reality is that many businesses will quickly reach the point that the back rent etc make it not worth their while reopening.

the levels.of lockdown exist in New Zealand too. the issue for me is the uk government is too busy setting up schemes to profit personally from to plan anything.

I would open most businesses bar pubs and clubs and enforce face masks in public.

that would go a long way to keeping this in check but you.must have instant testing to control things and we dont.

germany has and they are going to go back and live fairly.normally.

I have a feeling it will be extended by another three weeks when they carry out the next review next week and then maybe they will start to ease things.

The lockdown will be eased shortly I think. The main point of it is to ease the burden on the healthcare system. The NHS is currently coping fairly well.

I’m in favour of full lockdown for as long as it takes, New Zealand style. Sadly my boss disagrees and is taking us out of furlough on Monday.

Regarding pubs I saw something saying they might have a three drink limit and then you have to go home. This was in the Daily Mail though.
