Irwin is very underrated. Best FB in PL era imo.
Ronny Johnson. Was a solid defender just I jury prone.

Denis Irwin.
Brilliant player. Never mentioned when people put best United teams together. Or for that matter best PL sides.
Won a CL, multiple PL and FA cups.

Agree with Irwin, played longer than most seem to think as well.
Also think Paul Ince’s contribution to Utd’s PL rise is a little overlooked. Possibly because the next generation of midfielder was so iconic, or because he left under a bit of a cloud. Very good player for Utd at the time though.

Johnson was superb. Similar style to McGrath. Shame about the injuries.

Speaking of McClair and Arsenal I rewatched that fight from 90/91 on YouTube the other day for the first time since I was a kid at school and thinking it was a WWF brawl. Really wasn’t that bad at all. You see that loads in games these days. And no point deductions.
In comparison to the Spurs -Chelsea game it was tame. McClair should have been sent off though. All about the media reaction really.
To be fair the EPL in the 90s was the equivalent standard of Scottish League 3 nowadays. Weren't allowed the tackles of the 80s and they hadn't invented skill yet either. Pub era.
Dennis Irwin would be in any team I could name.

You’ve got to be kidding me?! There are not many more universally acknowledged players that have played in the PL!
People might not like his persona or arrogance, not sure I’ve seen anyone argue against the talent. Genuinely argue I mean as oppose to wum.
Martin Buchan. Elegant class player.
