I don't mean he was overrated due to his actions off the pitch. I just think that on it, whilst he was talented, he was a bit of a flash in the pan. Was at his peak for 2/3 years and then after the European Cup win fell off a cliff. I would even place the likes of Cruyff and Maldini above him in terms of the greatest of all time.

He certainly didn't fall off a cliff after the EC, he almost carried us for the next 3 or 4 years.

I certainly don't consider myself a woman hater and I certainly don't do strange things to boys.

Very often the people we idolise have feet of clay, which is disappointing, but doesn't make us bad people, and it's fatuous to think it does.

My parents often put on a Frank Sinatra record, while remaining good people.
