Forest should be back in the PL by now.
Remember when Ole came off the bench to score 4 goals against them? Good times.

I think that was Forests last PL campaign too, 1998/99.

Read the Title again....CAREFULLY
The first of their 2 European Cups
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I do believe Villa only won it once, and Chelsea, well, they got their hands on for a year, but let’s be honest, they weren’t really the Champions of Champions were they? They didn’t qualify by being the best in the previous season, Where did they finish, 2nd, 3rd or even 4th so not really a Champion of CHAMPIONS winning team IMO
And they’ve only had it once too...
....unlike Liverpool, Man Utd and Forest 👍🏼
Hope that helps
Afternoon Rev
It was only a Cup competition of course, and therefore subject to luck. Forest’s greatest achievement was their League title. But it was a better competition for the same reason, far more drama, and because there were fewer rounds they were exotic, unforgettable nights. It isn’t a special competition any more.
Hey vidal 👍🏼
I have to agree with you there, but nevertheless, still an amazing achievement for a Club of Forest’s stature at the time
Must make you also reminisce of those magical nights back at the Baseball Ground in the early 70’s - absolutely unforgettable memories and atmospheres
Of course, Rev. Because there were so few of these fixtures and only one English club involved each season, they were huge events. Now they all merge into each other and there aren’t many that live in the memory for more than a day or two, if that. Cups are all about glory and part of their magic is that upsets can happen and that the best team often doesn’t win. That’s not to say that Forest didn’t deserve their wins or that they weren’t incredible achievements, because they were. Now everything is engineered so that the same clubs will get their incomes and won’t run the risk of getting knocked out early on. There is no chance of an unfancied team upsetting the applecart.
