Biggest issue it seems was always going to be to get the premiership teams to agree to any changes. A lot of clubs it seems are happy to look at it, but not as a quick fix and not at such short notice.
What have I put that's wrong?
I was thinking about it this morning. Certainly not scarfy as I was more thinking about the lower tiers being split. The top tier stays although I didn't get in to the loss of revenue to teams like St Mirren losing home games v the OF and potentially 250k a time
I have no idea why this offends Rangers fans whatsoever it doesn't impact Celtic or Rangers

Because it was awfully handled at best because it’s possibly corrupt
All the stuff tims used to pretend to care about when it fitted the agenda
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't disagree with that
Tell me why what I said about reconstruction plans not going to work that was scarfy
None of them are doing anything for the good of the game. Every single one of them is doing what is best for themselves and themselves only.

I'm not sure how that scarfy thing applies here but it seems to be the case

This was never going to happen genuinely don't see why anyone is surprised.
Again it's the sort of thing that should have been explored before the league season decision rather than a vague promise with no intent behind it

If they went for reconstruction I think the primary issue would always be no relegation when it hadn’t been “earned” the rest is kinda default
Hopefully hearts sue and fook the league going forward
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And when Hearts sue the use all their money up doing so and go into administration and get relegated
Everyone's a winner
I get your point, they are not guaranteed relegated, there is no simple solution. They are closer to officially being relegated than Partick but not as close as Stranraer

I don’t think it’s scarfy
It’s worth discussing
And it’s opinion and guess work
But fundamentally going from 4 to 3 would benefit the game in general and most of not all teams at level 4
Increasing the top to 14 gives level 2 teams a greater target and improved chance of staying their
At least in principle
Your op focus on today only motivation and takes none of that in to consideration
Best way is to decide and have a season where everyone knows the target and prize
As done at the implementation of the original premier
Trouble is it kind of needs done now but that’s difficult

That any club bought this as genuine is beyond me
It was a convenient deflector at the time

Doncaster is being slated for saying that at the outset! When pressed by Nelms he has relented and said by all means try if you think it will succeed. Now it’s being used against him.
Doncaster on SPORTS-SOUND Radio atm. Seems like there is no case to answer re the accusations from the complaining clubs. No evidence. Who’d have thunked it?
42 clubs will have their say at the EGM in a democratic way.
You make a lot of assertions Duke about some reconstruction bringing benefits to the game. If it is staring everyone in the face then why doesn’t it have majority support? Why didn’t we pick it the last time we reconstructed?

Agree on that
Was chatting with my eldest about a top tier of 14 and benefits and disbenefits of it.
Right now it's safe to say St Mirren and Hamilton are likely bottom half of the top tier and would be bottom 8 of a new tier of 14. Don't think I'm being disingenuous in that statement.
At present they play 3 games v Celtic and 3 v Rangers. Both OF teams sell out the away allocation. At a guess and to make it easy to calculate £30 a ticket and 8000 seats so £240k. 2 home games and one away then the opposite the next season. That's 3 home games v Celtic and 3 v Rangers. Take ticket sales, TV revenue potentially and food and drink sales its potentially worth £1.5M over 2 years to them
Now take two home OF games away and replace them with games v Ayr or Dundee. Are St Mirren or Hamilton going to vote to lose 500k in money?
I'm not so sure
