the line between club reps on the SPFL board, club reps just acting as an actual club rep and the SPFL executive as an example

Was going to comment about this yesterday.

Director of club = duty to club shareholders

Also director of SPFL = duty to that body's shareholders (all other clubs and good of the game etc.) but might be in conflict with the above.

It must crop up all the time people being members of trade bodies? I imagine there is legal precedent?

The WhatsApp messages say that the Dunfermline guy stated he was acting completely on behalf of his club, and also said that 5 championship clubs were going to request the equal split of funds if the vote failed.

Bullying will very much be in the eye of the person on the receiving end. That may very well be their perception. The reality again though may be different. Also, there will be a formal complaint process I’m sure for any bullying, and that’s what ICT will produce either under oath or at the independent investigation.

I'm gonna ask Ivan to ask Admin to put 'scarfy' on the banned list.

It just means I don't like what you posted & you support another team.

Don't they have tech savvy people at the SPFL?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The quarantine system is operated by a 3rd party provider, and it’s possible they would need them to release it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a phonecall or email. IT staff at spfl will have logins, if they don't well to be honest that's another question to add to list.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s absolutely the case. Assuming they thought ‘I bet that email has gone into the quarantine system’.

A system btw that a lot of folk on here have difficulty understanding.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Most people on here aren't paid half a million quid to oversee an organisation.

People saying that the IT team must have been furloughed again that just raises questions if true.

Why were they furloughed? They can work from home (as are a few people I know who work next door at the SFA) also maybe don't furlough your staff when you are aggressively pursuing a decision on a very short timescale.

It's actually just another terrible decision.

The Deutchmark was the exact same size at the original 5p piece. Every schoolboy travelling to W. Germany in the 70s knew this, took bags of the things and filled the pool tables and street ciggy & beer machines. It was about 4DM to the pound at the time so approx 5:1 in your favour. Got run out of some bars after they emptied their slots.

"In an attempt to reduce its own costs, ultimately for the benefit of all 42-member clubs, the SPFL furloughed several staff and a number of the executives voluntarily took salary cuts. As a result, only an executive team of five remain to administer and manage the on-going business of the organisation as well as planning for the end of the current Season and for Season 2020/21. Their workload has been extremely onerous, managing a huge number of additional tasks - liaising with the SFA, medical officers, the Government, UEFA, other league bodies, our commercial partners and clubs.

"As a consequence, has everything been done perfectly and has it always been fully communicated? Of course it has not, and this is a point we have already raised to ensure the organisation is future- proofed for subsequent boards after we stand down.

"The SPFL Board is dealing with a fast-moving set of circumstances, with a skeleton staff trying hard to prioritise matters. It’s an unenviable job, and we are sure the many fair-minded people in Scottish football fully understand this."

Here’s the difference-I’m saying it’s possible that Doncaster doesn’t know or understand the quarantine system. That’s not really his job, is it? But, I absolutely concede that maybe he does know about it and how it works. Perhaps he did deliberately avoid it because he knew it would be there.

One of those scenarios is plausible and understandable to me (things like that can happen in everyday life), and I don’t think that makes him a disgrace or incompetent. It’s a learn for him and the company. The other doesn’t make sense but is possible and completely unacceptable to me, and if it was the case then he deserves the sack immediately, never mind a suspension or investigation.

But again, it seems to be irrelevant! If what’s been said about company law is the case, that vote can get changed anyway-so why make all that up, and why get so hung up about it?

Oh-on the IT staff situation-how date Doncaster not see into the future at the very outset of this and foresee the problems that not having the IT staff kicking about just in case this came up.

Again, in hindsight, that looks like it might not have been helpful. At the time though, it probably looked quite sensible.
