Give me 24 hours and I’ll have the situation sorted!

I've done just about every nasty DIY and garden job that the missin has been nagging me about for years and my stock is now high with her.

That has its benefits.

While I’m looking forward to this being over it’s not the worst for me.

Working as normal although in a different office due to social distancing and actually getting paid a nice bit extra for it so with nothing to spend it on I’m saving a nice bit of money.

I’m fitter than ever also as I’m more consistent with my exercise as there is no distraction with pubs and other activities.

I do miss socialising and my family. My dad is 60 tomorrow and I can’t go home for it but we’ll celebrate properly at a later date.

I’m general it’s all bad for some.

I'm basically getting paid to play golf and gardening...with a bit of cycling and hot tub

What's not to like

You’re not the first person to say that!

My life has taken me into such varied situations that I genuinely have an appreciation for both ‘sides’.

I think entrenched, binary thinking is the only thing I really dislike.

I got sacked in January because I wasn’t suitable for the role then got a new job in February then one month later they put me on furlough. Unbelievable timing.

It was enjoyable for the first 2 - 3 weeks, now I'm just bored, never thought I'd actually miss work but I do.

Although the recent easing of the lockdown meaning me and the family can spend longer out doors may help.

Never got it ffs

If I see another colleague posting photos of themselves in the sun with a beer whilst I'm at work, I'm gonna crack.

People should enjoy it and hopefully it teaches people u work to live, not live to work. Work is work and you are replaceable. So enjoy life!

quite right too I learnt this about 8 years ago when I thought I was indispensable then I got made redundant... In hindsight it was the best thing ever... I paid my mortgage off, I now work part-time and play more golf than I work

I’m not furloughed but I’ve settled into a great routine working from home (I typically worked from home 2-3x a week anyway) and I’d have been reluctant to go back to the old ways working, and given that the sentiment across our employees is similar (better mental health, work-life balance, exercise, time spent with kids etc.) and productivity hasn’t diminished whatsoever over the course of the last 6 weeks of WFH, we will be implementing a work-from-anywhere approach once as our new norm.

I am fully hating furlough,I feel useless and not sure on the security of my job. I think its all awful. If you are enjoying it though kudos to you!

I've wite enjoyed spending 100% of my time with my wife and kids

Lads, busby is clearly a liar. Don’t believe a word he says going forward

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's had its bad moments don't get me wrong

And I'd love nothing more than a week locked in my room alone.

BUT, i do get 2 hours a day to myself to go for a ride to let off some steam, and i have an office away form everything which i recently decorated and set up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How the face are you still working if you get 2 hours free a day!?! I’m trying to write some serious logic for work and all I have is my kids running around like feral monkeys. Impossible! And I head out for long runs at lunch but I can’t do 2 hours!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mrs is still on maternity and my office is on a different floor. I'm able to smash out my work in 4-5 hours as opposed to 8 in the office and the Mrs knows I function better when I exercise.

My biggest issue is I have two people working while the others are on furlough.

I felt paying 100% was the right thing to do but now there’s resentment from those left working.

They seem to have forgotten how well they’ve been treated compared with many and just become irritated at the comparison with their co workers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can see where they are coming from though despite the noble gesture you have made to pay the others 100%. It would be human nature to be envious of those earning the same but not having to work at all.

Perhaps take 5% off the furloughed people (95% is still extremely generous) and give the workers a bonus?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thing is, if or when you have to let staff go, it'll be those furloughed that go.

Weekends and bank holidays are pretty tedious as it is and to have this as repeat is not appealing to me. I actually prefer to work.
