Hated that goal. Hated it.

But with hindsight..still hate it

Probably the most dramatic moment in pl history. Maybe most iconic.

The point is, is that anyone who's been to a game where a dramatic winner has been scored will recognise that feeling of elation.

Having to wait 2 minutes for VAR to check it saps all the joy.

Any game I have been to since VAR was introduced has seen every goal celebrated as before. Havent noticed a collective pause at all.

It was repeated as the Etihad last season. Pep was celebrating like he won the CL until Var gave Aguero offside

...and he's only been able to celebrate winning 5 trophies since that fateful night.

Poor Pep.

Maybe you haven't noticed but others have.

Jurgen Klopp: “I don't celebrate goals any more because ... real emotions, this pause does interfere with a key part of the enjoyment .

Leandro Trossard: "I knew not to celebrate after last week and I could tell by the players' reactions that something wasn't right and it was clear they were going to review it,"

Nuno Espirito Santo: "We have such a nice Premier League product, we cannot lose it. It's what fans come here for - not to celebrate when [there] is no goal. That is not the real celebration of football. You celebrate when there is a goal. Creating these moments are not good for the atmosphere of the game."

The PL restricted it's use to avoid the above concerns which kind of makes it a farce. Using it for everything will ruin a large part of the game for me, which is the free flowing, organic nature of the sport.

As a United fan and having been down to the Falklands in '82 I was not happy for more than one reason.

Boycott the Bundesliga. People are dying. We must not let BT send out the message that football is more important than health

Thanks to VAR, scenes like this will never be repeated for any club.

What were Martin Tyler’s words in the commentary?

“I swear you’ll never see anything like this ever again! So watch it! Drink it in! Stupendous!”

So don’t know why you’re getting your keks in a twist and blaming VAR.

As I was at the game, I didn't hear Tyler's commentary so I don't see the relevance of that comment.

As I didn't film myself during those final moments, I selected a video clip that reflected my emotions on that day.

Anyone who doesn't get the point of this thread has obviously never been to a live football match.

That’s the point! Was horrible going off when we scored only to get it chalked off moments after. That’s a regular feeling at games now and I’m not into it!

Your point was it won’t be repeated. You’re just plagiarising Martin Tyler’s words.

Prefer not to have referee errors in the game. They don’t balance out over the course of the season.

You genuinely think if the same circumstances happened but with VAR the crowd wouldn't go just as mental?

Only difference would be the tense minute when the goal is checked before getting to celebrate a second time when it's given.

That process is the problem I think though. Obviously goals have been ruled out before, but not as often and it really takes something away from the experience

You've obviously never been to a game where a goal has been ruled out by VAR.

Of course people jump up, it's a natural reaction but when you then sit there for 2/3 minutes waiting for a decison it's a bit of a mood killer.

I'm sure people that watch footy on TV don't realise that the people in the stadium don't see all the replays or hear any of the analysis that TV viewers get and that's what's killing the game as a spectator sport.
