If you realise GOL isn't based on reality you'll enjoy it.

Oh thanks. Here I was thinking it was a documentary.

A lot of people pick out the flaws as if it was a DramaDoc.

I was late to sopranos...by a couple of years probs...but once I started on it..i was gripped, as good as TV comes really.
The Wire was another...watched ep 1 once - couldn't get the street slang, went back to it last year just after Christmas...got it, got hooked & binged the lot in January

From a British perspective...Cracker, Prime Suspect, and of late Line of Duty, & Unforgotten have been outstanding examples

Most comedy series that seem to hit the mainstream but I can never get into them. They're all overrated. I'm looking straight in the eye of Rick & Morty fans here. It's like South Park on tranquilisers or something.

Peaky Blinders got boring/repetitive quickly. Also I honestly didn't get the hype surrounding Tom Hardy's character. Arthur is the real star of that show.

Power they should've ended in season 5. I love Tommy as a character but once they had him dodging bullets and looking all surprised that someone even had the audacity to shoot at him I knew that show passed it's sell-by date.

GOT was great from s1 to s4. Once they passed the books it went downhill pretty quickly.

Breaking Bad I will admit is very very slow paced for the first 3 seasons but honestly once you get to the second half of season 3 it picks up well and doesn't rest. It's good. Once Gus hits the scene you start to appreciate that show.

The Wire is great.

And then honestly if you're watching stuff like Friends, Suits, Grey's Anatomy, Pretty Little Liars, Vampire Diaries, Devious Maids, Desperate Housewives, Stranger Things, Riverdale, Glee and all that other shiiiit, you need reevaluate your life decisions.

It's the PC brigade that hype all this average shows up and then you watch it and you're like....meh.

Friends is a good shout.

Never got it.

Luther was another highly rated show but I found it boring.

I like Friends tbh, I like the characters, their dynamic and can relate to Chandler, it’s best not to take it too seriously.

Teenagers watching it for the first time on Netflix and saying it was un-PC because Joey likes to sleep around, uses words like “sl*tty” and the gay characters are, heaven forbid, not central to the show his hysterical.

The Big Bang Theory, for example, is a bad show, the premiss, the way it’s constructed, it’s different to just no finding it very funny. I find that it punches down, making fun of the “nerdy” characters, the role of Raj, Penny is literally just there as a s*x object for the boys to drool over, and they just strung it out for the money in the end. Poor TV IMO.

I struggle with things like Better Call Saul because, apart from Frasier, I struggle to get into spin-offs, I did like Breaking Bad though.

The problems with Only Fools and Horses is;

1) there is a massive gap between how many episodes there are and how many truly funny jokes there are in it.

We all know the best jokes the series has to offer, batman and Robin, falling through the bar and the chandelier joke, however those are too far spread out over the rest of the episodes.

2) it didnt end when it should have, we all know it should have ended when they got rich, but they then had to milk it more and it just destroyed the whole premise of the show.

There are truly funny jokes in every episode.
And not just jokes, just the mannerisms of some of the characters are funny (especially uncle Albert).

You have just listed 3 big visual jokes, but there are many more subtle funny moments every episode.

I'll say this...

I'll watch reruns of Father Ted & Blackadder until the cows come home...

Never watch Only fools though...but that's just me
