Not really a problem where I live to be honest.

You can't ban joggers, Scousers would have to walk round in their pants...

Are people really causing a fuss that a jogger runs within their totally arbitrary holy/magic 2 metres radius, for what would probably be about 0.2 seconds

They are. It’s ridiculous.

I always try to move out of the way and allow people to pass when I'm out walking, whether it be with the dog or by myself. Probably get thanked for doing so about 1 time in 10. International pandemics should not be justification for rudeness.

I do quite a bit of running mainly first thing when nobody is around. When I do go on the trails, which can be tight, I normally stop when I come across people. Common sense should prevail.

I’ve always been a runner and I’m definitely noticing some disapproving looks at the moment!

It’s all a bit pathetic.

The only thing that irritates me is running in the road to avoid someone on their bike!

I agree and I may sound racist for saying this but from my experience here in Ireland it’s mainly non-nationals who are the worst behaved on the streets. They don’t move for people nor do they show any manners when people move for them.

Had to do that earlier today. If you’re afraid to cycle on the road you should not be cycling!

I don’t really agree with that, but they should be giving way at the least.

That’s fair enough but we’ll agree to disagree there.

Agree, if you’re that concerned stick to one side of the footpath. The amount I’m having to go in the road is pizzing me off at the moment.

The Process

The only thing I’d add is that until there’s safe cycling infrastructure, people will cycle on the pavements.

Rather than discourage active travel, I believe the onus should be on encouraging safe travel for all.

I’m using the road a lot but it’s getting busier and there’s many more cars now, so struggling a bit.

Not sure if I’m more disliked on my bike or running these days.

(Teeing up a gag for you guys there!)

Ha there was a woman on the local fb group losing her mind a couple of weeks back because she’d seen a jogger spit, despite the fact they weren’t near anyone 🙄

I was jogging a few days ago and a fly flew into my mouth so naturally I spat it out. There was no one close to me but the people across the road looked at me like I’d pulled out a gun and shot someone.

Now you know how it feels to cycle... it’s as if you’re riding round with a shotgun calling everyone a caant.

Dog walkers are my nemesis at the moment. A few round here, meet up and go for a walk. Nowhere near to being two metres away. Plus dogs off leads. Their owners think us runners like a quick play with their dog whilst off for a run!

I don’t mind cyclists as such it’s just some of the things they do.

What I hate is when you are stopped at a red light and a cyclist proceeds to pass all cars on the inside and move to the front of the queue. Naturally they take off quite slowly in comparison to cars holding up everyone. They should wait their turn in the queue.

Another thing is when there is a car parked or obstruction in the cycle land they feel it’s ok to pull out on the road without looking as long as they give a hand signal.

How do you feel about drivers?

Filtering is perfectly legal and is often done to ensure that they’re seen.

I often wait in the queue but it’s hardly queue jumping is it!

I think both of these are perfectly legal and reasonable things to do. Definitely legal to filter to front of traffic. Not sure about whether it is legal requirement for them to indicate when obstruction in cycling lane but then it definitely isn’t for cars so doubt cycles are different. If you’re getting caught out by a cyclist moving centrally to avoid an obvious obstruction than tbh it’s on you imo

Some drivers are idiots.

It may be legal but holds everyone up.

Funny how people talking about cyclists holding them up.

Probably for 30 seconds.

How long do you sit in traffic, caused by motor vehicles?

It’s a funny old world.

If I’ve overtaken a cyclist and then come up to traffic lights, I get as close to the curb as I can so I don’t have to re overtake the <sshole again, I often put the windscreen wash on just as I’m overtaking, they love it
