Like you say felt like a friendly ( Dortmund game ) the echoing of players shouting reminded me of a youth game and it’s something I think they need to look into if it’s a no fans season fully next season.

Atm i feel like I’ll probably won’t want much of the games like I used to but probably change when it’s the prem.

Personally, it's not for me. I think I'll watch the big games but nothing more, especially in the summer.

Maybe in the winter when there's fack all to do I'll watch more.

Maybe when Jose gets sacked I'll have more interest in football generally

Have to say the no atmosphere thing shows you need good punditry and for the Dortmund game that was awful which made it worse.

Loved it. Not ideal but better than nothing

would like to hear how the players find it, does it detract from their performance or do they find it preferable

I wonder if there’ll be less histrionics, cheating and abusing/pressuring the refs from the players? The intense atmospheres created by the crowd surely plays a part in this, so could be a positive effect....

Goalkeepers will still be able to take 40 seconds to take a goal kick to waste a bit of time without any abuse from the crowd. It just isn't right!

I don't see the fuss about fans not being there. it's a small portion of the the players games relative to their careers. it shouldn't impact celebrations. I've played in sunday and saturday league with no fans and it never stopped our team from celebrating a goal or a win. Yes I'm sure the "12th man" effect won't be there but these players really shouldn't be letting it impact them.

I enjoyed it. It makes you kind of wonder why some are so against even playing football without crowds to finish the season.

Super boring for me and couldn't get into it. Seems like the players are missing an extra 10%

Would be interesting to know how fans of the teams involved felt, as maybe it's a little different when it's your own points on the line.

That said, German league is facking boring anyway so it could just be the norm.

Crowds and the atmosphere are a bonus I think.
If u need a crowd to enjoy the game you've clearly never enjoyed the beauty that is grass roots football.

All these people saying it's not football aren't true fans in my view. All you need is a ball and 11 on each team, with some officials for good measure. A crowd doesn't stop you enjoying the skill and football on offer.

Has it ever been talked about in Germany whether it is possible to allow some fans (maybe season ticket holders) in the stadiums?

In a converse way it is actually quite easy to implement low numbers of fans in a 20’000 - 30’000+ stadium, right down to the massive distance you would have between fans in stadium (much further than everyone’s favourite 2 metre rule) and you could regulate leaving and entering stadium in a socially distant manner quite easily with low numbers.

Does anyone know why the subs were sat 2 metres apart?

I’d say it’s the opposite lol based on top 5 leagues

PR exercise really. It does make sense to proceed with it I guess it doesn’t really change anything and shows some sort of effort to abide by socially distancing rules.

There was a moment in the first half of Schalke Vs Dortmund, where I think it was Harit for Schalke, plucked a 60 yard pass out of the air and stopped it dead in front of him. Unreal touch but he was offside.. commentators literally made nothing of it

It will be interesting to see if there is a slow drip of fans being allowed in. I guess transport as much as the stadium will be a factor in that. It is okay spreading 5000 fans into a 60k stadium, but if 5000 fans all come in on the tube then it is a different story.

Yeah but how many Sunday league games do you just go and watch. Playing grass roots football or watching a game your child is involved in is one thing, turning up at some shiiit strewn cabbage patch on a wet Sunday morning to watch the Dog and duck vs the Bearded pig 11 is quite another.

It is funny that you can't celebrate with team-mates who you will spend a lot of time with, but can grapple with an opponent you will spend just 90 minutes with.
But it is the same in normal life, you can spend 12 hours at work with a group of people where social distancing is pretty impossible, but then you can't sit in a park or in someones back garden with the same people

Playing Sunday league with no fans doesn't give you an insight into playing Infront of 30,000+

Even playing infront of 1,000+ completely changes the way you play.

This you either follow/support your team or you don't.

Crowd or no crowd you have to go with the flow and follow your team
