Not sure about Belgium and Holland, I’ve not read about their decision, but the French league didn’t decide to cancel, government told them they had to. They were left with no choice.
The British government seems to be supportive of a restart, as are the German and Spanish governments.
Subtle difference perhaps but if the league and government want to restart then it’s likely to happen.
has officially ended this afternoon, the 28/29 game season was the shortest season on record since the 26 games 1891/92 season. We can now move on and start planning for next season. Probably still be major problems coming down the line, but at least everybody knows where we stand now.
No Champions, no relegation, shame for those at the top of the leagues, lucky escape for those at the bottom, but unfortunately the season that started was never going to finish, once the pandemic hit.
We go again so to say, hopefully in August. Stay Safe.

Holland was also stopped by govt I think. In Belgium there was a consideration that it wouldn't make financial sense. TV deals have to be big enough for behind closed doors football.
All these leagues ended with relagation and champions (if there's a gap to second place).

As someone who has had a bit of involvement with the set up of this, I’d say that was extremely optimistic. The lead researchers aren’t being that optimistic either publicly or privately.
Am I missing something here, not seen a single word about the season being ended/voided or cancelled. Has someone lost the plot or does someone have a valid link to this mess?
