"In terms of TV money, a lot will depend on the TV companies. Will they be charging full whack subscribers next season (Sky Sports / BT). If not will they be paying out the full money to clubs?"
*****************
Current TV contracts which paid the FA and clubs millions for 2019-2020 will be re-negotiated...... the TV companies are going to want some of that money back!
This is not going to be a big win for the clubs

I'm dreaming of an ENIC sell out!
The club is currently in 8th position with the Arsenholes one point behind and a game in hand.
Kane is due to be sold to Real Madrid.
Alderweireld and Vertonghen and Aurier and Rose are outa here!
Time for Louis and Levy to faack off.....

Why will this seasons TV deals be renegotiated?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because the FA/Clubs did not adhere to the terms and because the TV companies lost revenue that they expected. Very much doubt there was a COVID escape clause.
Just you wait and see ............

I will. I personally doubt anything will be renegotiated with a new deal up for grabs in 2 years and the likes of Amazon, YouTube and other huge broadcasting companies thought to be interesting. Sky or BT may look at something for next season or when new negotiations start but I am pretty sure they wont rock the boat in terms of finances.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is what a lot of people seem to miss. BT, and in particularly, Sky need prem football more than prem football needs them.

This will have a massive impact on transfers etc. Quietest summer window ever. Lots of loans and short term deals i think. Might favour the Oil/state funded clubs who have deep endless pockets.
---------------------------------------------------------
Clubs who were at the forefront of monetizing football by becoming PLCs could consider fresh share issues.

The tv deal has peaked according to multiple financial experts and when renegotiated, will not top the current deal.

How can the premier league convince potential broadcasters that another outbreak isn’t literally two weeks around the corner and threatening to throw the whole world into lockdown again? Well, they can’t.

People are underestimating the impact this pandemic is having. I have businesses so maybe I am more at the sharp end than some, but the world is a changed place, and in my opinion there is no “getting back to normal” as most are suggesting. The landscape has changed permanently in every single way.

There are two years to run on the current deal. The previous one was actually the peak. In two years time we’ll have a much better idea of any lasting impact.

The figure officially quotes on the onset of the pandemic starting was that Spurs were looking at a figure of £40 million loss, if the season ended now. Right now, considering the stadium debt, this is huge. It is to be seen if this remains true as I can see TV productions looking at a different way of structuring future deals, specially the impact of not having spectators or their ad audience, that may result in less payments for games televised, but more charges for viewers at home. Really the new norm will be different and could change the football landscape.

You can agree. It doesn't actually impact this seasons deal in any way though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In order to make that statement you'd have to read the actual contract. Done that, have you?

I'm hoping ENIC will decide to sell out.

I’ve heard League One and Two clubs are in talks with Bob Geldof to put on a fundraiser for the EPL.

Have they decided on relegation/promotion yet? If clubs get parachute payments they could end up getting more than the league winners.

Any money that I decide to spend on football in the coming 12 months will be directed at grassroots and lower league clubs.

I don’t want to hear any of the PL clubs bleating.

They’ve rinsed fans for years, overpaid players in the extreme, agreed to throw millions upon millions after agents disinterested in the game and reinvested peanuts in community clubs and grassroots football.

Their little cabal has done its best to hoover up every penny in the sport and ruin the game, and if PL owners end up on their knees, they can go fack themselves as far as I’m concerned.

in the long term I do not think that football will change much. There will be a vaccine things will get back to normal. Maybe contracts allow more explicitly for these circumstances but it will not necessarily devalue the contract significantly

People talk about EPL being at the peak value. I am not sure I agree. There is greater competition. this usually results in bigger prices pai. Think about it, who have Sky had to bid against, no one seriously until BT came along. Now with media giants youtube and amazon in the market the bids will likely get higher. The product is still hugely sought after.

People are always predicting the EPL has peaked. Dont see it myself.
