Six players tested positive

So that’s three PL clubs that will have to self isolate their players and the staff for a minimum of 7 days.

I think its only the players who have tested positive as they have not been in contact with anyone else at the club.

What I want to know is what happens when a player tests positive after the games start (it will happen) do they all have to self isolate then, no chance of finishing the season if that happens.

It's got nothing to do with player welfare, it is all about trying to salvage as much finance as possible.

Pleased to see Deeney decline the opportunity to return to train.

Wouldnt have otherwise been found out I guess.

I reckon that these lads were asymptomatic.

Some studies have suggested that between 25-35% of the nation have already had it.

I think it’s just the folk who tested positive who isolate.

Not the whole club

Yes its the specific individuals who have to isolate not the entire club, people seem to forget they haven't been together as a group in months.

Clubs have had players resume training today and tomorrow, so obviously some of these players that tested positive have been in a close vicinity with their teammates and staff no?

Around 5% of Key Workers coming to the Drive Through centres with symptoms are testing positive. I imagine this sort of figure will hold when its rolled out to the rest of the population in the coming days.

Most scientific studies at the moment suggest that only 5-10% of the population have actually contracted the virus.

No they were tested before that I'm sure and then the training yesterday was all at social distince. I'm sure they'll do regular testing, but it's in a few weeks when training is full contact when it gets difficult, we'll see how it pans out.

This Project Re-Start is gonna be one giant clusterfo0k mess. Oh well, so long as a few Clubs are pandered too.

Can't stand Deeney but fair play to him for putting his family first.

exactly. Group training only began today with groups of five. the pre-requisite is being tested and waiting 48 hours for the results before starting. That's why united and some other clubs won't start group training until tomorrow, because they only did the tests on Sunday and won't have had the results until today. It's also why this has been published today, so all clubs could have completed testing. some of the positive tests could have been from Saturday with results coming in yesterday and therefore staff would have been isolating already from today.

Although six is quite a low figure, I still can’t see how the PL will be allowed to go ahead in less than a month. What do we reckon lads?
-------
The Bundesliga had 10 positive tests just 2 weeks before they restarted. The PL will be fine unless a ton suddenly catch it.

The Bundesliga has fewer players as well.

A bit of disinformation in the OP.

Are the players on strict isolation between games? They may all be clear for when it starts, but what’s stopping some of them just picking it up from a supermarket or something? Surely to give the league much hope of finishing, the players and who they live with will basically have to never leave their house unless for games or training, as things like food and stuff can easily be delivered to them.

It's only 6 players, a small price to pay as long as we can keep BT, Sky and a few dippers happy.

I presume that the 10 in the Bundesliga was all the teams. Ours is three clubs, if it's replicated over the PL teams that's 36 positives. Not saying it will be of course.

What’s fake? The PL has released a statement saying six players have tested positive. It’s all fact.

One problem with social distancing is that is when people, for the most part aren't heavy breathing, after the players are say sprinting the distance the virus will travel is a ways further, they pretty much plucked 2m out the air

That said I'm sure they are taking every precaution and am sure the players will tested multiple times over the coming period, it's not cut and dried either way but understand the desire to get a tad normality back

Surprise, surprise Liverpool fans think this is no big deal.

If 100 players tested positive on the eve of the restart they would say "nothing to see here".
