This is completely different to making a throwaway comment that you cannot remember correctly - especially when it is the form of a website that records everything you type and so there would be an evidence trail.
In this scenario (assuming he didnt actually say it for the purpose of conversation) he is either mistaken in his consistent belief which is stupid. Or he is lying.
So yes, by doubting him you would be accusing him of one of those two things.

Except Baz also said that his opinion hasn't changed and has been consistent, hence doubling down on his affirmation. This is completely different to making a throwaway comment that you cannot remember correctly - especially when it is the form of a website that records everything you type and so there would be an evidence trail.
In this scenario (assuming he didnt actually say it for the purpose of conversation) he is either mistaken in his consistent belief which is stupid. Or he is lying.
So yes, by doubting him you would be accusing him of one of those two things.
