United owners poisoned a lot of local kids.

......

Obviously you were spared as you didn’t go to school. Be thankful.

United would have been punished, the Glazers would have sold up

......

Very unlikely. The Glazers would have probably sold off their lesser profitable businesses to pay off the debt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I imagine their other businesses are taking an even bigger hit atm.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who knows. Maybe the Hail Mary might go up on United soon.
When they manipulated ffp, they did not factor in covid-19.

I imagine Platini didn’t get his way so you whataboutery is irrelevant.

OK, his other businesses are also going down the pan.

Funnily enough the only place I could find anything on Edwards selling tainted meat to kids was on the City Fan forum consisting of Binky and Mancini called Bluemoon.

Bit desperate this
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How's this desperate?
United's debt has just rocketed up to more than £400m. The banks may soon start having second thoughts. If the economy does not recover quickly, the downward slope could be accelerated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
in mid feb the dollar bought 77 pence, it now buys 82 pence, thats about 5% negative movement.

thats about a 22m increase in book value of the debt

lost 26m in broadcasting revenue and have written in expected returning payments to broadcasters of 20m due to covid. They have also lost 23m in cash due to the virus.

so we are 91m there I'll have to assume the 'missing' 30m from he 120 is bruno or some other installment of transfer fees hitting while revenues were paused.

all clubs are gonna get hit with the loss of match day revenue, returning tv money potentially, extra cash payments to staff they have dutifully kept on despite no match day revenue.

the only key raise here in Uniteds finances is the 22m in debt repayments due to the exchange rate which will fluctuate quarter to quarter anyway.

if other clubs think this is a United problem they better brace themselves....

It's all wishful thinking.
The banks won't be concerned, the club is sound, the owners can put money on if necessary. City fans all excited because we made a loss

Our club is built on decades of achievement, theirs on a lucky find of œil under the sands.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Owners can't put in money.
That's a bad thing acoording to all who bleat on FFP.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t think you understand FFP.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s got something in common with City’s owners then

if I was Ed id auction off the naming rights for Old Trafford, knowing I will get mega bucks.

then given its gonna be a nightmare to ever redevelop, secretly start building a new one after they've inked the contract

Doubt the Glazers will ever be interested in building a new stadium. Not worth it financially for them given how much it costs to build a state of the art stadium in the UK.

they won't be in charge much longer, the way they're tied up in the States they're gonna have to start disposing of assets to maintain wealth.

They would probably get more money for the Bucs than United but as a status symbol in the US they'd probably prefer to shift United.

FAC is going to collapse because of this pandemic.

posted on 21/5/20

I highly doubt that. United are worth a lot more as an asset and as a cash cow.

posted on 21/5/20

United are probably worth double the Bucs, true

but as I said the pandemic is gonna ruin FAC, if it hasn't already. They're gonna need cash, I cannot see them selling the flagship sports team they own in their own state over a foreign club which really brings little to no status for them in the US.

No problem. Banks have too much invested Utd to call in the loans. 10 years ago Man Utd had debts reported at £800M. Probably due to what it had cost them for Ron Atkinson's jewellery years before.

posted on 21/5/20

Then why do you think they’ll get more money for the Bucs?

The Glazers won’t be selling United any time soon. It’s not in their financial interest.

because of how US Franchise systems work.

if somebody found out that license was up for grabs and decided they're moving them to a different city and saw the potential of "bringing a NFL team to town"

the current value goes out of the window, its all about buying potential look at the Oakland Raiders, worth $1.4bn in Oakland, $3bn in Vegas.

the buying frenzy for them would be nuts if they were to sell.

posted on 21/5/20

How much did their value go up after they were bought? I’m talking value to sale price, not value after relocation.

And bare in mind United were the 6th most valuable sports club in the world last year.

It doesn’t make any sense for them to sell when they’ve borrowed so much against the asset, that pays for itself, and lack the other assets, and cashflow, to make up for this loss.

If they had any intention of selling then we wouldn’t be looking at the takeover at Newcastle. As they’re one of the few people that could actually afford to buy Manchester United.

Who is left who can afford to buy United at the price that Glazers expect?

thats a tough one as the Davis family owns controlling interest and started off in 66 buying 10% for 18k

my point was that simply by moving them the teams value went up to 3bn from 1.4bn.

there are plenty of rich texans clamoring to get an NFL team in San Antonio which would be far more profitable than Tampa both in interest, revenue and tax breaks.

but owning a NFL team is like being owned royalty in the US so even though I have little doubt they'd sell Utd before Tampa, Tampa would get them more money.

If FAC fails they will have literally 40m coming in from Tampa and 7ish coming in from United.

they could keep their billion dollar NFL crown and sell United for probably 1.6bn if they got 2 and the 400m debt was paid.

You need only to look at the valuation of the club to understand why there’s absolutely no danger here - though I suspect the OP understands that

Elon Musk will buy United and turn us into TeslaX Raiders of Manchester.

Remember where you heard it first.
